Over at reddit, the atheist subreddit* is having a huge annual fundraiser for doctors without borders, trying to raise $100,000**. Donating even a little bit is trivially easy at http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/r ... m/ratheism. If we hit that $100K, I think it will generate some media coverage of exactly how good without god we can be when we get together.
*btw, the atheist subreddit, http://www.reddit.com/r/atheism, 250,000 is the largest atheist online community. It's a great place to hangout and exchange info with other atheists.
**I know it says $75K at the donation page but I'm on the planning committee. Take my word for it; we want $100K.

Post #2There is no point in trying to prove that we can be good without the mainstream Christian God.Autodidact wrote:Over at reddit, the atheist subreddit* is having a huge annual fundraiser for doctors without borders, trying to raise $100,000**. If anything most Christians will ignore it by saying that we are only donating to prove that they are wrong.
Besides, why do we have to prove that we can be good WITHOUT God; when Christian history has already shown that they can be evil WITH God!
Another way to look at it is that the ones who are good are being good without God!
