Hi Friends and Adversaries and Friendly Adversaries,
My life has returned to “usual, though hardly “normal. My recent sabbatical was necessitated when my Wonderful Wife and I divorced last year and my attention was turned elsewhere. We are back together – even more solidly and happily than ever.
I will miss Joer and discussions of "The Urantia Book". However, I am pleased to see so many familiar names (and familiar debates).
David

You forgot adversarial friends
I'm glad to see you back. I'm glad to hear y'all are both together again. And I'm glad to know you're doing well.

Great to see you Z. Divorced? Wow, that kind of shocked me. One of our earlier discussions I said there was no such thing as the perfect woman and you vehemently disagreed, saying that your wife was your perfect woman. It actually gave me hope actually. Well I guess the fact you are back together doesn't make that claim wrong, huh?
As it happened, I met my perfect woman before Christmas and we had a whirlwind romance and I had my best Christmas break ever. Unfortunately it all fell apart about 4 weeks later. I guess she wasn't my perfect woman. Well I'm trying to convince myself she wasn't, but it's hard.

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.
Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.
There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.

Welcome back to Z

Post #6Welcome back, sir. I myself have been more scarce over the last several months. How about you give me a reason to re-engage?
Kuddos to you and your wife for making it work.

Thank all of you for your kind words and your concern.
The past year was stressful; however, the last couple months have "made it all worthwhile". Sometimes we have to lose something to realize how much we had -- and sometimes we can get it back.
We did.
