I would like readers to comment after reading whole article, with open mind and heart, and neutral approach..
We shall discuss after this. Special points to be noted in this article is the remarks and opinion of non-muslim historians, christians, Jews about Islam.
Example -> Canon Taylor, one of the mission leaders of the Anglican Church, expresses the beauty revealed by the Islamic morality in one of his speeches as follows:
It [Islam] brought out the fundamental dogmas of religion - the unity and greatness of God, that He is merciful and righteous, that He claims obedience to His will, resignation and faith. It proclaimed the responsibility of man, a future life, a day of judgment, and stern retribution to fall upon the wicked; and enforced the duties of prayer, almsgiving, fasting and benevolence. It thrust aside the artificial virtues, the religious frauds and follies, the perverted moral sentiments, and the verbal subtleties of theological disputants… It gave hope to the slave, brotherhood to mankind, and recognition to the fundamental facts of human nature.
The false assertion that people in conquered countries converted to Islam under threat has also been disproved by Western researchers, and the justice and tolerant attitude of Muslims has been confirmed. L.Browne, a Western researcher, expresses this situation in the following words:
Incidentally these well-established facts dispose of the idea so widely fostered in Christian writings that the Muslims, wherever they went, forced people to accept Islam at the point of the sword.

Islam Denounces Terrorism

Why do you think I am going to do your research for you? Not to mention of course this has nothing to do with the subject at hand. How does an article that is about forced conversions and the bad things christians have done have anything to do with islam denouncing terrorism? At the moment we are discussing about article, so tell me please, the critisicm towards Christians, is done by the author or the historians. be specific to topic please.

Re: Islam Denounces Terrorism
Post #22Maybe you forgot already what we discussed about Slavery.Wyvern wrote:This is exactly what I'm talking about, I bring up an issue and without a thought you dismiss it especially if it is negative towards islam. I did bring up evidence of islamic slavery none of which you addressed, ignoring a problem does not make them go away. Were did you come up with a number like 0.001% of conversions are forced? I want to see the source of where you pulled this number out of. Simply put you are now trying a lawyer like defense, throwing a bunch of arguments and hoping one will stick is not an honest debating method. Pick one excuse for forced conversions in islam and stick to it.The article is nowhere about slavery, and also we covered slavery a lot and in depth in previous post, where you could;nt produce any evidence.
2nd for forced conversion, I told already, that if any minor incident happen, it has nothing to do with Islam, because the conversion should be from heart, not from outside, and the ratio is 0.001 % of total conversion of non-muslims to Islam.
Historically, the major juristic schools of Islam traditionally accepted the institution of slavery.[1] Muhammad and many of his companions bought, sold, freed, and captured slaves. Slaves benefited from Islamic dispensations which improved their situation relative to that in pre-Islamic society.[1] At the end of the 19th century, a shift in Muslim thought and interpretation of the Qur'an occurred, and slavery became seen as opposed to Islamic principles of justice and equality.[2] This interpretation has not been accepted by the Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia.[3]
In Islamic law the topic of slavery is covered at great length.[1] The Qur'an, the holy book, and the hadith, the sayings of Muhammad, see slavery as an exceptional condition that can be entered into under certain limited circumstances.[3] Only children of slaves or non-Muslim prisoners of war could become slaves, never a freeborn Muslim.[4] They also consider manumission of a slave to be one of many meritorious deeds available for the expiation of sins.[5] According to Sharia, slaves are considered human beings and possessed of some rights on the basis of their humanity. In addition, a Muslim slave is equal to a Muslim freeman in religious issues and superior to the free non-Muslim.[6]

All source are from non-muslim neutral sites.
Now for forced conversion, I already said, if some1 convert any non-muslim forcefuly toIslam, this kind of conversion is not in the lne and rule of Islam, and is not valid.
Now what other negative point you have, may we know ?

Yet again what does any of this or even the original article have to do with the title of the OP which states islam denounces terrorism?TrueReligion wrote:I'am not asking you to do research, in the begining of post, I mentioned clearly that 1 should read complete article, and than discuss, if you dont like to read entire article, you should;nt be discussing hereWyvern wrote:Why do you think I am going to do your research for you? Re: Islam Denounces Terrorism
Post #25Just because you say it is not in line of the teachings of islam does not mean that it is not happening. If every muslim would have the same understanding of the koran they very well may not force any conversions or engage in terrorism. The truth of the matter is that there are many interpretations of the koran which people use to justify their actions. Just as with christianity a passage is often reinterpreted in order to justify an action. Now for forced conversion, I already said, if some1 convert any non-muslim forcefuly toIslam, this kind of conversion is not in the lne and rule of Islam, and is not valid.
Re: Islam Denounces Terrorism
Post #26You have previously stated that in islam there is no slavery, but here you give evidence that slavery still exists at least within Saudi Arabia. Additionally until the dawn of the twentieth century the standard thought in islam was that slavery was legal and just. Did the words of the koran change or was it simply the interpretation of what the koran says change? There is no single interpretation of religious scripture and it changes over time as is seen here. You holding on to the idea that there is one islam with only one interpretation of the scriptures simply does not hold up to reality.Historically, the major juristic schools of Islam traditionally accepted the institution of slavery.[1] Muhammad and many of his companions bought, sold, freed, and captured slaves. In addition, a Muslim slave is equal to a Muslim freeman in religious issues and superior to the free non-Muslim.[6]

Post #27Provide claim of your evidence, this would be considered as statement only, you said every muslim is forcing other non-muslim to be converted to Islam. Bring evidence, otherwise backoff your claims.Wyvern wrote:Just because you say it is not in line of the teachings of islam does not mean that it is not happening. Also you have to show how many different versions/interpretations of Quran are available now, with different meaning. confirm your claim please

Post #28Who said that there is no slavery in Islam? can you show where I said that there is no slavery in Islam? What I said is that Islam eliminate slavery, and it orders Muslims to free slaves, which is best of deeds, now if some1 is not doing, means he is not following Quran. so its their problem, not mine or IslamWyvern wrote:You have previously stated that in islam there is no slavery, but here you give evidence that slavery still exists at least within Saudi Arabia. Post #29Obviously islam has not eliminated slavery otherwise it would no longer exist. This seems to be more a misunderstanding of english on your part than anything else. You have said that islam eliminates slavery if something is eliminated it no longer exists, if it no longer exists noone should be doing it if all muslims are following the same interpretation of the koran.TrueReligion wrote:Who said that there is no slavery in Islam? can you show where I said that there is no slavery in Islam? "Every tree is known by its fruit," are well-known words from the bible. So which lands are invading and occupying the other, inflicting heavy civilian casualties (even apologized for today in Afghanistan by US General) and destroying their communities? What about Muslims in the West? To believe some of the whacko statements made by Islamophobes, they don't want integration into society. Consider:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiqwSbwpXu8 as for slavery, it exists in many different cultures today, but never so vehemently defended as in the US not so long ago. Prolonged imprisonment without trial is a form of slavery that thousands of Palestinians are subjected to.
