You appear to be an enigma. I like that. I presume that you are a Christian yet you introduce yourself with an obvious reference to the Rolling Stones' Sympathy for the Devil.
I too have a Bible, but I try to use it against those who claim to believe it.
I am fortunate to live where the risks of having a gun outweigh the benefits. It is a sad commentary on society where there are those who find otherwise. Please keep it safe and away from children. The Bible too.
Welcome

Luke 22:36-38 wrote:And He said to them, "But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one. For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me, 'AND HE WAS NUMBERED WITH TRANSGRESSORS'; for that which refers to Me has its fulfillment."
They said, "Lord, look, here are two swords." And He said to them, "It is enough."
John 18:10-11 wrote:Simon Peter then, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's slave, and cut off his right ear; and the slave's name was Malchus. So Jesus said to Peter, "Put the sword into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?"
I find this tale enigmatic. Its meaning and significance is never explicitly made clear, nor is it discussed much in Christian circles.Luke 22:51-53 wrote:But Jesus answered and said, "Stop! No more of this." And He touched his ear and healed him.
Then Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders who had come against Him, "Have you come out with swords and clubs as you would against a robber? While I was with you daily in the temple, you did not lay hands on Me; but this hour and the power of darkness are yours."
