Post #1Hi everyone, I just joined as a member here. I'm from Tampa FL. Through Google I found this site and thought it was neat and interesting on my first impression. Indeed I like this forum I think its a great idea. I especially like the "respect" and "civilty" policies this forum has when discussing different beliefs and religions. Subsequently this site appears to have a high tolerance for different topics moreover. I personally have many different ideas, beliefs, and opinions. In a wide variety of areas and hope to have a debate civily on this forum discussing things.

Welcome Snick. I agree. Unlike other sites run by Christians you can discuss pretty much anything, challenge any belief, even challenge the bible... yet not be banned as a heretic or blasphemer. Pretty much any topic goes. Obviously it's not the place to come if you can't handle your sacredly held beliefs challenged, but if you can then you'll fit right in.
Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.
Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.
There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.
