Hi,
Just joined this evening and wanted to introduce myself as instructed in the opening message. My name is Mark, I'm from Tennessee, and I love to read material regarding apologetics. I am also a seminary professor and teach Hebrew, OT Studies, Ancient Languages and periodically different theology classes. After looking at a few apologetics sites, I thought that this one looked great, and so I decided to sign up. I am a Christian and have been for 36 yrs. I enjoy talking about God and related issues with both believers and unbelievers, so I'm looking forward to some dialogue.

Post #12My parents were/are devout Christians and I was raised in it from birth. I don't come across a lot of people online who have been in it for that long from such an early age. Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.
Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.
There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.
