Song: Pilgrim

I am a huge Enya fan, and my days are filled with her music. I find it relaxing, peaceful, and stimulating, all at once.

This particular song of hers, I think, will speak to many of us. The lyrics are nothing without the amazing music and her sweet, ethereal voice, but I will post them here anyway.

They will say nothing, of course, to either the fundamentalists or the atheists among us who are smugly certain that they have all the answers in hand; but for the rest of us, here they are:

Pilgrim

(c) Enya (TM) 2000

Pilgrim, how you journey
On the road you chose
To find out why the winds die
And where the stories go.
All days come from one day
That much you must know,
You cannot change what's over
But only where you go.

One way leads to diamonds,
One way leads to gold,
Another leads you only
To everything you're told.
In your heart you wonder
Which of these is true;
The road that leads to nowhere,
The road that leads to you.

Will you find the answer
In all you say and do?
Will you find the answer
In you?

Each heart is a pilgrim,
Each one wants to know
The reason why the winds die
And where the stories go.
Pilgrim, in your journey
You may travel far,
For pilgrim it's a long way
To find out who you are...

Pilgrim, it's a long way
To find out who you are...

Pilgrim, it's a long way
To find out who you are...

We may be smug cnorman but not because we know the answers. We do however no the answers don’t involve any gods :eyebrow: .

Okay. Personally, I don't find smugness admirable, no matter what the reason.

What did you think of the song? You'll notice that it does not mention gods.

If you were smug you'd not say that. :P

You might like this Pilgrim on You tube
Enya's voice always has a beautiful tone. She could probably sing a shopping list and make it sound ethereal. But this song is not my favorite by her. May it be always hypnotises me.

I suppose you're right. There are a few things I'm smug about. I make the world's greatest biscuits, for instance. And I am undefeated at Trivial Pursuit. Nobody will play me any more, though, so I guess that isn't all that admirable, either.

Alas, one of the limitations of my beloved BlackBerry is that it can't play videos. I know the song, though, and I love it too.

I love all her stuff. There is only one song of hers that I regularly skip, and that's "If I Could Be Where You Are" on Amarantine. It's beautiful, but has some unfortunate personal connections for me.
