Hi Garnet! Glad you followed him over!
Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.
Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.
There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.

I encourage you to jump in. A word or two of advise. Focus on issues not on personalities. Never claim victory for yourself, but take quiet satisfaction when your opponents demonstrate that they have run out of arguments by resorting to insults. Don't be afraid to be wrong, that's how we learn. If you are wrong about some point, hope that someone will do you the favor of pointing it out. Ask for evidence.
