Joseph Smith, an iconic figure and prophet for the Mormons. According to George M. Hinkle, a close friend of Joseph Smith:
"I have heard Joseph Smith Jr. say that he believed Mahomet was a good man...that Mahomet was a true Prophet!" (Correspondence and Orders, 1841, p.128)
If anyone would like to disprove Joseph Smith in the easiest possible manner, he should than quote the hadith of Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa salam):
La Nabiyya Ba'dee "There is no prophet after me." (Sunan Tirmidhi)
Since Joseph Smith accepted Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa salam) as a true prophet, than he cannot escape the fact that a true prophet never lies.
For Mormons: Joseph Smith believed in Muhammad (pbuh)

I know a lass who came from a Mormon background, turned to Islâm and then, after having the doubts any intelligent person goes through, met me and ended up apostating. Does that make her my first ‘convert’?!

Before you can "disprove" Joseph Smith, you need to examine some of your assumptions.
1) Just because George Hinkle said Joseph said something, that doesn't mean he actually said it or that he used those exact words.
2) Just because Mohammed is quoted in the haditha, that doesn't mean he said that. The haditha were collected long after his death, and some of the sayings could be his followers' inventions.
3) Did Mohammed mean that there would be no prophet immediately after him, or ever?
Joseph Smith's successors have stated that Mohammed and other religious leaders were inspired of God and that they were good men.
“The great religious leaders of the world such as Mohammed, Confucius, and the Reformers, as well as philosophers including Socrates, Plato, and others, received a portion of God’s light. Moral truths were given to them by God to enlighten whole nations and to bring a higher level of understanding to individuals. … We believe that God has given and will give to all peoples sufficient knowledge to help them on their way to eternal salvation (“Statement of the First Presidency regarding God’s Love for All Mankind, 15 Feb. 1978).

Just cause one nut case beliefs another nut case doesn't really prove much.
Muhammed is one of many human manifestations religion needs to point to what can be achieved if you follow MY teachings, do as I say, and keep the money coming. I've expounded on this a bit more elsewhere within these forums.

You should have some degree of knowledge about a religion before you criticize it so harshly. Islam is not a money making business, because unlike the Mormon church, its not an organization with a president and a treasury, etc.Muhammed is one of many human manifestations religion needs to point to what can be achieved if you follow MY teachings, do as I say, and keep the money coming. I got a good degree of knowledge about religion. Every dang one of 'em hollers about how the other religion is wrong cause by golly my god here says so. I have yet to come across a religious book yet that didn't say ya gotta kill someone, or smite 'em or smote 'em cause they don't believe this bunch of hokum. I know about religion, and I know about humans, and I know humans use religion to suppress free though, suppress ideas, and generally just to create another human being devoid of thought or personality.
I know about Christianity, it based itself on the Jewish faith, and couldn't get enough folks to buy into it so then had to create a human version of god to help tell the story. I know about the Islamic faith cause every time I see mention of an Islamic dude it is because something done got blowed up or taken as a hostage.
Don't ever farking tell me I don't know about religion. I live in the freakin bible belt. I see, on a daily basis the stupidity of religious ideas thrust upon decent human beings.

Wow, a crazy guy believed in Mo! Stop the presses!

Imagine the people who believe ... and not ashamed to ignore, totally, all the patient findings of thinking minds through all the centuries since the Bible.... It is these ignorant peoplewho would force their feeble and childish beliefs on us...I.Asimov

Nameless wrote:'Snuffy' Smith has more credibility than Joseph Smith, to the educated who are still able to think.
And "Snuffy" Smith has more credibility than Mohammad.

Post #10Joseph Smith and Mormonism(The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) are Christians and not deserving of the "non-Christian" thread.
