Doing that "Hi My Name is Mike" thing

But my name isn't Mike. I just picked it because I thought it worked in the title. My name is Dave.

I'm from Northern Canada, and have been an atheist since before I knew the word for it. I was "Raised" Roman Catholic, but the truth is I never bought into it. It took me a while to realize that I didn't believe, but up until then, I was at best 'dubious'.

I'm in my mid twenties, and I've gotta say, I'm impressed with a lot of what I've seen in how the debates work around here. I'm looking forward to jumping right in, I've been looking for an active place to do just this sort of thing.

Yeah. Guess that's about it.

Hi C-nub... I mean Mike... I mean Dave. Welcome. I look forward to seeing you in action.

So do you consider that you were born an athiest?

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.

Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.

There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.
