What if Christ returns?

Post by Antagonist »

What If a random person would get a lot of attention in the media all the sudden because he claims to be the son of God?
Would you believe him (Christians?) or would you just think he has some mental problem (Atheists? :) )

I think that many Christians would see him as a blasphemer or someone who is trying to get attention. but then... what if he is the son of god?

“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

Matthew wrote:"So if they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness,' do not go out, or, 'Behold, He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe them. For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.
But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.
And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
Paul and Silvanus and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians wrote:For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore comfort one another with these words.
If this is to be believed, I don't think that anyone will be able to mistake it for just some guy making a claim.
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
First Epistle to the Church of the Thessalonians
The truth will make you free.
Gospel of John

If this was to happen, would it not be the start of Revelations? I would hope that God would make it crystal clear that He was Christ so as to avoid us mistaking Him for a mental case. But He didn't do it for His first appearance, I fail to see why we should expect Him to do it should He return again.
What we do for ourselves dies with us,
What we do for others and the world remains
and is immortal.

I think that IF Jesus would return to earth he's deliberatly not going to be very clear. so he could tell the real believers from the hypocrits. we're talking hypothetically ofcourse.

HE will. I think, beyond a shadow of doubt, we would be able to recognize HIM.

Rev 1:16: His countenance was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.

Matt 24:30: They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.

When Jesus comes the second time we will know its Him. But the antichrist will come first, and many people will believe He's Jesus.

Do you think the antichrist is already here in the form of this guy over here?

Nah. I think that guys the typical cult leader. I think the antichrist will be known worldwide, and I think he'll have more political power than that guy.
