The flood thread looks interesting and I'll definitely look forward to having a good read of it as soon as I get the opportunity.
Otseng, it didn't really start with debate, the doubts had sprung up a lot earlier than that, but I think that was where I really made the decision that I no longer believed the teachings of Christianity.
Basically it started out mainly as cynicism, hearing the same things all the time, but never seeing the reality of it. eg Revival is on the way. This church is going to impact the city. God is going to do that, he's going to do this. Lots of false prophesies form respected Christians.
A big step to my deconversion was believing I was hearing from God and that I knew his voice and then one day discovering I didn't and had been wrong all along. It's a personal story, one that I may or may not share. We'll see how it goes.
No doubt I'll share a lot of things about lessons I've learned as topics come up.
