My Intro.

Post by The Project Hate »

Hi.

Fstst.com linked me here, so I felt like checking this forum in depth.
So here I am.

I'm Joffrey, 22, from France.

My family could be qualified as catholic even though my parents don't believe in god. My grandparents do, though.

I attended catholic churches. More because the education was better than because my parents though I had to learn catholic basics. But still, I had been studying in catholic schools from 6 to 18. Had religion classes, masses at Easter, Christmas. I also passed my first Open Communion at the school.
But till 18, I'd never cared about religion.

It started being interested in it when I turned 18.
I wanted to make my own mind, and therefore I had to "flee" from the culture I had. And as you know, religion is a big part of culture, unfortunately.
Besides that, I've also denied the fact that any god exists because science and logic are to the most important things. Not to mention all the stuff (but another word started with "b" and ending with "t" would fit here better )around any religion.
Therefore, I always try to improve my knowledge in pretty much every subject.

I'm currently student in finance, fourth year over five.

Should be enough for now. :)

[sarcasm]Nope, no one here fits that description.[/sarcasm]
You must be speaking of all of the "fundamentalist atheists" on this forum?
"Fundamentalist Atheist" is an interesting term. Did you invent it yourself?

What does it mean in light of the definition of "fundamentalism" cited above and considering a valid definition of “Atheist”? Merriam Webster defines Atheist as, “one who denies the existence of God”.

Hi Joffrey, welcome to the forum. I'm from France as well, though American by birth. I live near Cannes. (PACA baby!)

Hope you don't mind your topics being derailed, seems the guys here have done a good job of that in your first thread. ;)

Regarding Fundamentalism and FSTDT: that site is pretty fun, yet I agree, sad at the same time. I think it's at least a good of example how fundamentalism of any kind can be dangerous.

Also, I'd like to see Biker's quote. Search is not working there. ;P

I'm not aware of ever being on that site since I'm not a fundamentalist, I'm a member of the ekklesia and a bond servant of the Most High God. So no quote! Sorry! But I'll be glad to talk to you regarding the inerrant Bible.

I think you missed the point of the site. The purpose is to take fundamentalist quotes (usually ones that lack reason or cognitive thinking) and post them there. I'd go out on a limb to say you could probably have an entire section there. ;)

I don't hear bond servant much these days. Mind explaining exactly what you mean by that? (last I knew, it meant a slave without wages)

Reading up on Ekk (http://www.ekk.org) - I suppose it sheds some light on why you are like you are. Good luck with that, I suppose. What the world needs is more fundamental Christians, right?

I'd be upset if I didn't have a whole website! Are secular/humanist/rationalist reason and cognitive thinking, things to be actually desired? From what I understand that will get you in hell for eternity. 8-)
So you don't hear about bond servant much. Why don't that surprise me. Maybe because all of society is a self deifying, self worshipping, narcissistic cluster. There is world wide starvation going on and Americans are spending billions on diet related products due to obesity, that is only one example I could go on for days! It seems secular/humanism isn't working very well.
Hey, why don't you tell me why I am like I am. Hopefully I am very different from YOU!
Since I am a member of the ekklesia, why don't you fill us all in on "fundamentalism" I don't know anything about it!
While your at it why don't you explain the monkey to man scenario, I still don't get it? Or is there a new theory, today?

I'm wondering what your world view is? Do you have one? What is your methodology for arriving at truth? Do you have one?

We have a winner!

The Book of Biker
Book 1, verse 1: For listen brothers and sisters; abandon all reason and logic. Do not think clearly or intelligently on anything; above all, tread not into rationalism, and stay clear of thy enemy who is reason; for those of you who partake of these devlish works will surely be cast into the Lake of Fire.

(to be continued)

Your Jesus and mine seem to be very different, Saint Biker. Mine is one of compassion and reason, not one who casts those who don't listen to 1500 years of dogmatic clergy or follow manmade traditions into what you call "Hell".

(on a side note, I'd probably take a lakeside view of the Lake of Fire if I had to be near you and your nonsense for eternity)

Hmmm,
Seem to have a professing "Christian" who can't read and comprehend very well!
For listen brothers and sisters:
If you will notice I wasn't referring to "brothers and sisters" but "secular/humanists". Are you one of those?
In case you haven't been filled in, the Bible is the definitive, ultimate, be all end all reason and logic document! Reason in it! Use logic in it!
No wonder there are so many groups of "professing" Christians.
"Your Jesus and mine" are the same, it's the ludicrous comprehension skills of "professing" Christians that are "very different".
Saint Biker
Thank You for the acknowledgement!

Maybe you will listen to straight Bible (A.D.90) that is verifiable as the autograph of John:
Revelation 20:11-15 " And I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. And death and hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."
Is the above the result of "1500 years of dogmatic clergy or manmade traditions"?
I believe it is truth and it will happen just as surely as anything has ever happened!
I would hope you really don't feel that way about me, that you would rather be in the lake of fire?
Have you received Jesus Christ as your Saviour? Have you received the Spirit of God? Do you believe Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life without blame, died in place of you an innocent man on a tree, and raised from the dead, ascended to God the Father, and is coming again?

I'm ceasing this conversation, as you are clearly incapable of intelligent discussion.

Throwing Bibles at people is no way to lead people to Christ. You're doing more harm than good.

That is all.
