Is it wrong to laugh at those less fortunate than you? And if so. why?
90% of humor that you see in reality or media( movies and televison), is pain as in it comes at the expense of others such as a Jim Carey move. People have no problem laughing at that, so why would it be wrong to laugh at "American History X"? Both are just movies and are there to entertain you, why not laugh? Also when you see some getting in the privates, that will ususally spark a laugh, so why isn't it funny when someone gets caught in an elevator shaft? Some people find mentally retarded people hilarious, but most people like to frown on those who find humor in the retarted, why is it wrong? Also why is it okay to judge someone on what they do and do not find entertaining?[/u][/i]

i think... it's legit to laugh at it... as long as you can truly and honestly laugh
at yourself if you had the same problems.
heck... i'd laff at myself when i screw up... i'll laff at others, too.
yeah, i get mad too... but usually, anywhere from a few moments to
a few years later, i'd laugh at myself.... so i think it's fair for me to
laugh at others. however, i really laugh more at the situation/circumstance
than at the person per se.
(oh.. and it's not just the past tense, it's present tense too... "i laugh...")
i saw someone mention "pity"... i believe this is totally diff't from
"laughing" at someone's misfortune.
it sux to be the butt-end of a joke, but then hey, look on the bright side,
someone's laughing and feeling better.
doesnt this question just really make people "too" careful about laughing!?
that's scary. i think, laughing is one of the best relief of stress and
anxiety... but... if i have to get all anxious and stressed about what im laughing
at, then... well, this is one mighty rough world to live in.
i thought about this a while back... so i came to the conclusion, it's FAIR...
as long as anyone can laugh at me AND i got lots to be laughed at!

I'm fat and yes I laugh at fat jokes. As far as the mentally handicapped, if someone calls someone else a 'tard, it can be funny. I personally don't find, 'look at that guy, he is mentally handicapped' to be humorous.
As far as people with bad jobs needing to get off their lazy bums and climb to the 'top', well that's just ignorance.
