Atheist Tent Revival

Post by Zzyzx »

I must credit a fellow member (who may wish to remain anonymous) for mentioning this topic in another thread.

A giant tent revival is being planned during September to celebrate the non-existence of gods in conjunction with the Great Equinox. It is fitting and proper that the tent will be non-existent – in recognition of the non-existence of gods.

Speakers will present “Fire and Brimstone Atheism” with great emotion and conviction. There will be singing of sacred songs in praise and worship of non-gods. Some participants may speak in strange languages (like Bostonian) or roll on the ground in ecstasy, overcome with the power of Atheism (or of strong drink).

All will be invited to come forward (stepping over or around those on the ground) and declare their love of Atheism and tell of their conversion and of their former life living the sin of Theism.

When everyone is worked into a lather of emotionalism, there will be a faux-cannibalistic ceremony involving pretzels and beer (in lieu of bread and wine), followed by the sacrifice of a stuffed deer head. The traditional swine will be roasted and consumed (after being appropriately blessed by the chief Atheist, of course).

There will be public Baptism of newly initiated members of the AAAC – Atheists, Agnostics and Anti-Christians. Those who survive will be honored with special prayers to non-existent gods. They will thereafter be known as "Good Atheists" or "Real Atheists".

Donations will not be accepted.

But will we be going door-to-door, spreading the gospel of rationalism and truth?

Can I order some tracts? I hope so, because then I can not hand them out :D

Fair is fair, it is what I do to any christian organization giving something away for free. Order it and throw it away when I get it.
