I went to see this new Steven Spielberg film yesterday with one of my sons. We had a great chat about it afterwards over a beer and wings and I thought the topic would be interesting to some here. You can hardly turn on a news program these days without bumping up against a report on UAP's or secret files that the government has supposedly been keeping from public view for decades. This movie is so timely that there are conspiracy theorists who consider this some kind of PSYOP.
When it comes to the physical reality of UAP's and aliens amongst us, I've never seen one nor have I seen any solid convincing evidence that they actually exist.
Quite to the contrary, the lack of actual physical evidence persuades me that in fact they do not. Further more, I don't care if they did exist as long as they left me alone and didn't probe me.
But for discussion purposes I'll pose the questions here that I asked my son.
What would a disclosure of convincing evidence do to your faith?
Would it damage or destroy your belief in God?
Would you deny or disbelieve what is shown to you because you'd be certain it's a deception?
How would you feel if you discovered there were 'others' that are among us and that they'd been here before.
How would it change your understanding of humanity and divinity alike?

mmmmokay.... Zip zilch nada response.
"The heavens declare the glory of God."
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Test everything. Hold fast to what is good.

No. Why would it? I think we exist in a created thing. The idea that their may be other unknown lifeform which exist, even if disclosed would not alter that.Would it damage or destroy your belief in God?
THat would depend on how one would prove that it is a deception and would also depend upon what the UPAs are.Would you deny or disbelieve what is shown to you because you'd be certain it's a deception?
How would you feel if you discovered there were 'others' that are among us and that they'd been here before.
It would explain many of the mysteries in the Bible and in other cultures stories.
That would depend on exactly what anything is said re what is disclosed. How would it change your understanding of humanity and divinity alike?

The question has never been whether God is speaking. The question has always been whether there is anyone listening - anyone who has stopped hiding long enough to hear.
