In Acts 20:17 The word translated as "apostle" in English, "apostolos", means one who is sent away or "sent one". Thus, it is correct to refer to Paul as "Paul the sent one", rather than as "the apostle Paul", as is the bad habit of modern Bibles. Several people besides the twelve original followers of Jesus, are referred to as "sent ones" in the New Testament, including Paul, Titus and probably Luke, Barnabas and Timothy and most likely others; see 2 Corinthians 8:16-23.
Paul refers to several people from the assembly at Ephesus as elders (Greek "presbyterous"). But he refers to the same people in Acts 20:28 as "episkopous" which means "overseer" in English; "episkopes" is wrongly translated into English as "bishop" in I Timothy 3:1, which again means "overseer" in Greek. It is likely to be qualified as an overseer, one must be an older person and be experienced in both life and in following Jesus, thus the term "elder".
The secular Jesus is cleverly twisted into a religion called "Christianity", by wrongly translated words in modern English bibles. Words such as apostle, Bishop, pastor, epistle, gospel, doctrine and many other religious-sounding translations, twist and badly alter the intentions of Jesus and the biblical authors. Some correct meanings are explained here.
The modern habit of a church (correctly called "assembly") having one Bishop, preacher or pastor is not of biblical origin. The word translated as pastor in most bibles means "shepherd" in Greek. Shepherd is just one of many positions in the real assembly of Jesus; see Ephesians 4:11. The word translated as "deacon" means "servant" in Greek and, all of the various positions of God's assembly found in the New Testament are (apparently unpaid) positions of service, not of power as many elevate themselves today.
The position of "shepherd", wrongly translated as pastor, as the place of prominence so-called "pastors" today grab for themselves, is not a position of particular prominence in the real assembly but rather, it is just one of several, listed last. There is no such position as a "preacher", who shouts, yells and waves his arms while delivering a lengthy boring prepared sermon. It is more than fair to say there is no Christianity as a religion anywhere in the Bible.
Many different people spoke or sang in the real assembly as they were so moved by God's spirit. As Jesus teaches us, "The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called benefactors. But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves" Luke 22:25-26.
There is no such thing as a pope in the real assembly of Jesus, nor is it necessary to attain a religious degree to instruct others. We are all brothers and sisters with one leader and one teacher, Jesus Messiah. Jesus is our only high priest (see Hebrews) and only Jesus can forgive sins. Other than parents when we are children, we are answerable to no one other than God.
Those who confess their sins to a priest should ask Jesus to forgive them, just like all the rest of us should. A priest can neither forgive nor absolve anyone's sins. To preach simply means to proclaim and, anyone on earth can proclaim the good news of Jesus; one does not need to attend a religious university or obtain a divinity degree; such 'degrees' are worthless pieces of paper. We can save our time and money and be taught by Jesus himself.
Based on several letters of Paul, the early assemblies when gathered together as a group, several people spoke as the spirit moved them, perhaps interspersed with singing as likewise, the group was moved to do so. There was no lengthy boring sermon and meetings seem to have been entirely spontaneous and unscripted. Such gatherings apparently also usually included eating and socializing among the group.
Early followers of Jesus gathered in homes and perhaps public spaces and outside, weather permitting. They appear to have sometimes lived in the same larger housing complex. Constructing an expensive building or temple to supposedly honor God seems to have been anathema to both Stephen and Paul in Acts, who both state that God "does not live in temples made with hands." According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, early followers of Jesus considered it paganism to construct any type of temple or so-called "house of worship".
It is important to understand that real assemblies in the New Testament were not religious organizations, temples or other buildings. When Paul travels to various cities in Acts establishing new "assemblies", these are groups of Jesus followers. The real Jesus is not a religion. Rather, he is about grace, mercy, love, peace and growing freedom.
And Jesus is deliberately secular, associating with the average people, poor and oppressed and some of the worst thought of people in his society. Those who present Jesus in some other fashion will more than likely answer to God Almighty for doing so; for God "is no respecter of persons."

First, let me state, that I know Jesus was never secular. He was a practicing Jew who followed the Law, perfectly.
Second, concerning your conclusion; if I present Jesus as the prophesied Messiah, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was beaten, scourged and hung on a cross, dying to fulfill His Father's will as the perfect, willing sacrifice for our sins, and raised on the third morning, defeating death and being witnessed by at least 400 and ascended to heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father, will I for doing so, as you claim "...more than likely answer to God Almighty, for doing do..."?

No one else will be saved, even if you're part of My church, which they now call the Church of Christ, but the truth is, it's of the people. Remember, My church is not proud, doesn't pretend to be superior, doesn't proclaim that they alone will be saved, but My church spreads salvation, doesn't proclaim that they alone will be saved. The work of My church is to spread My holy word, to lead people astray no more, and to worship none other but Me, I who am your Lord God Almighty.
Remember, eternal life and your salvation are in My hands. If you want to be saved, come and draw near to Me. If you want eternal life, come and call upon Me. Trust in Me, because if you don't, you will have no salvation and no eternal life. You will have nowhere to go but to calamity and suffering. But if you draw near to Me, you will attain nothing but peace – peace if you accept it, if you trust in Me, if you believe in Me with all your heart and all your love. Love Me with all your heart, and worship none other but Me, the one and only Lord.

Post #4So we are to believe what you write, claiming "Thus says the Lord", as if you are authoritative and speak for Christ. That and we who follow the Way, are children of God, saved by grace, through faith and not by works, we are to reject His God breathed word and the men called to shepherd His sheep for what you claim on the internet.OneJack wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2026 10:40 pmThus saith the Lord Jesus:Richard Aberdeen wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2026 1:03 pm

You truly bear all the marks of a cultist and beginning antiChrist cult we are warned of in His God-breathed word:
Matthew 24:23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time. 26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Post #5[Replying to lastdaysbeliever in post #4]
Thus saith the Lord Jesus Christ:
What more should you doubt when I am already within you? Don’t you want to draw closer to the Lord your God Almighty? Do you accept Me freely and freely in your heart? Have you dedicated your life to Me? Then you have nothing more to doubt if you have done these things. It is not easy to believe in things or events that are miraculous from God. Most people today find it easier to believe in the evil works of Satan. Don’t you notice that in all the newspapers, in all the news on television, the works of Satan are always at the forefront? But if it is the Lord God’s work, only a few believe and these are the people who have fully accepted and recognized God. Some people who see a miracle performed by the Lord will only believe if that miracle happens to them. Some people will even say that the person who talks about the miracles performed by God in his life is crazy. So, you who doubt, if I am in your hearts, if you have accepted Me as Almighty God, you have nothing to doubt.
I do not claim to be authoritative and speak for Christ, but to testify only to the Lord Jesus Christ that He truly exists, and that by coming to and calling on Him, we may be saved if we listen to Him and follow Him when He responds. So we are to believe what you write, claiming "Thus says the Lord", as if you are authoritative and speak for Christ.
I wonder why you seem apprehensive about what I'm sharing here with all [in this forum], when you know that you are a follower of the Way and a child of God, as you claim. If you are a follower of the Way, no doubt, the Lord Jesus Christ is your Pastor and Teacher, isn't He? And, without fail, you would know that anyone would only be saved by coming to and following the Lord Jesus Christ until the end if you were a child of God. And on top of these, you would be well aware that the Lord Jesus Christ commanded the apostles and disciples to make all nations His disciples, not to shepherd His sheep, as you claim above. Don't you know that the apostles and disciples are sheep of the Lord, on par with you if you are a follower of the Way, as you claim? That and we who follow the Way, are children of God, saved by grace, through faith and not by works, we are to reject His God breathed word and the men called to shepherd His sheep for what you claim on the internet.

Re: ARE MODERN CHURCHES REALLY BIBLICAL?
Post #6You are not testifying of Jesus Christ but a false messiah (doing so is antichrist) who is leading sincere seekers of God to damnation starting with you, your family, friends and relatives that believe it. Clearly you are unaware that Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father and will only return at His second coming. Like the apostles were told at His ascension, so He will return the same way (Acts 1:11). Post #7[Replying to lastdaysbeliever in post #6]
Thus saith the Lord Jesus Christ:
'All of you who are listening, listen carefully! I am your Lord God. Who are you afraid of? I am the Almighty. Who are you intimidated by? Remember, when I am by your side, you have nothing to fear, nothing to worry about, because I will save you from any calamity if you trust in Me and regard Me as your salvation and eternal life. As your Lord, whom you alone will worship and none other, I am the one true God existing in heaven, earth, or universe. I created all things, I gave you life. Where will you go? If not to Me, you have nowhere else to go.
"Remember, eternal life and your salvation are in My hands.
What makes you say I am testifying to a false messiah? Which part of the messages of the Lord do you accuse Him of being a false messiah? You are not testifying of Jesus Christ but a false messiah (doing so is antichrist) who is leading sincere seekers of God to damnation starting with you, your family, friends and relatives that believe it.
Thus saith the Lord Jesus Christ:
'All of you who are listening, listen carefully! I am your Lord God. Who are you afraid of? I am the Almighty. Who are you intimidated by? Love Me with all your heart, and worship none other but Me, the one and only Lord.
You have not seen Jesus in your life since birth, yet you do say now Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, don't you see yourself lying with your notion above? Don't you know that Jesus is the Father Himself, who came in the flesh, the flesh of the Son of God, during His (Jesus) incarnation? If there were someone to sit at the right hand of the Father, that would be the Son of God, per se, the man who was the physical vessel of God, whose name is Jesus, in His incarnation.Clearly you are unaware that Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father and will only return at His second coming.
Are you telling us Jesus is not here with us, across all generations?Like the apostles were told at His ascension, so He will return the same way (Acts 1:11).
I do not claim two personages visited us, but the Lord alone, whose name is Jesus. We do not see Him yet, but we're able to talk with Him; He told us that He is Immanuel, who is with all of us, across all generations. He is beside you/me/them all the time. Jesus is omnipresent. What you are peddling is the same as Mormons with Joe Smiths claim Jesus and the Father visited him,
But JS called for affiliation of all with a church that he set up afterwards - The Latter-Day Saints Church. On the contrary, we don't, and we tell people to come and call on the Lord Jesus for their salvation and eternal life. Why liken us to JS in this context?physically, instructing him to not join any denomination because their doctrines were wrong.
Is it not true that the only way for all of us to be saved is to come and follow Jesus until the end?Very similar to what you quoted your entity supposedly telling you.
Which part of that message do you find cultist marks? That is why you bear all the earmarks of a cultist and cult. Not only that, but you also quoted supposed words from this entity that contradict God's breathed word and claim "thus saith the Lord Jesus Christ" (this I addressed with you in an earlier post and OP).
What does Matt 24 address negatively to what I am saying about the Lord Jesus Christ, together with His messages for the whole world today? Try to point to us specifically the cultist marks that you see in those words uttered by the Lord.Concerning Matthew, you have made the claim this entity has visited you, your family, friends and relatives AND shepherded you, off and on, over 14 years. This claim is directly addressed in Matthew. A warning to all who read what you claim.

Re: ARE MODERN CHURCHES REALLY BIBLICAL?
Post #8"....If you want to be saved, come and draw near to Me. If you want eternal life, come and call upon Me...". This is not the gospel of salvation. What this "Jesus" of yours claimed is unbiblical and lies, designed to draw sincere seekers.of God away from Him. So, we are not saved by "drawing near" nor have eternal life because "we call upon" whoever it is telling you this. Your "Jesus" contradicts the very truth of God's breathed word and His salvation, which tells us that we are saved by grace, through faith and not by any works, works like drawing near to your "Jesus". We are only saved by Christ's payment for our sin on the cross and after we repent and receieve God's unmerited favor, we are born again, become children of God, and we receive eternal life.OneJack wrote: ↑Tue Jun 16, 2026 9:42 pm [Replying to lastdaysbeliever in post #6]What makes you say I am testifying to a false messiah? Which part of the messages of the Lord do you accuse Him of being a false messiah? You are not testifying of Jesus Christ but a false messiah (doing so is antichrist) who is leading sincere seekers of God to damnation starting with you, your family, friends and relatives that believe it.
Thus saith the Lord Jesus Christ:
'All of you who are listening, listen carefully! I am your Lord God. Who are you afraid of? I am the Almighty. Who are you intimidated by? Remember, when I am by your side, you have nothing to fear, nothing to worry about, because I will save you from any calamity if you trust in Me and regard Me as your salvation and eternal life. As your Lord, whom you alone will worship and none other, I am the one true God existing in heaven, earth, or universe. I created all things, I gave you life. Where will you go? If not to Me, you have nowhere else to go.
"Remember, eternal life and your salvation are in My hands.
I think you're a sincere person, believing what your "Jesus" has told you, but it's simply a little truth stuffed with lies. I continue to lift you up to the Father, in Jesus' name. That the Father will draw you to His Son and you will repent and receive His unmerited favor.

Galatians 1:10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Re: ARE MODERN CHURCHES REALLY BIBLICAL?
Post #9[Replying to lastdaysbeliever in post #8]
Matthew 19:21. Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect[, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
John 5:39-40. You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life."
Matt 11:28-29. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls
Why not, what have you heard and learned from the Lord Jesus Christ about the gospel of salvation? What did He tell you about that gospel, per se?"....If you want to be saved, come and draw near to Me. If you want eternal life, come and call upon Me...". This is not the gospel of salvation.
How can sincere seekers of God be drawn away from Him (God) if they (seekers of God) come to and draw nigh to the Lord Jesus Christ whom [as evidenced by your narratives] you are not privy to, even to His utterances today? What this "Jesus" of yours claimed is unbiblical and lies, designed to draw sincere seekers.of God away from Him.
It's apparent that you do not recognize the words of the Lord Jesus Christ on the issue of salvation, all you know is your opinion and understanding on biblical passages that suit the faith you hold onto. What do you know about salvation, by the way?So, we are not saved by "drawing near" nor have eternal life because "we call upon" whoever it is telling you this.
You are truly unaware, even in the bible, which are the words of the Lord Jesus and which are not. The 'saved by grace, free gift, etc. notions of salvation is not the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ written in the bible, but of Paul, who is not the Savior. Paul is long gone too; hence, he cannot teach us anymore. If you want the teachings of the Lord Jesus about salvation written in the bible, go to the following biblical passages, to wit:Your "Jesus" contradicts the very truth of God's breathed word and His salvation, which tells us that we are saved by grace, through faith and not by any works, works like drawing near to your "Jesus".
Never did Jesus say anyone gets saved by my payment for his sins, did He?We are only saved by Christ's payment for our sin on the cross and after we repent and receieve God's unmerited favor, we are born again, become children of God, and we receive eternal life.
Even the teachings of Jesus in the 4 gospels agree with the utterance of the Lord today about salvation; you are now the one who contradicts the Lord in this regard, since you take the notion of Paul about the salvation of mankind, which is not in agreement with the Lord's teachings, both in the written accounts of the bible and in the utterance of the Lord Jesus today in our time.I think you're a sincere person, believing what your "Jesus" has told you, but it's simply a little truth stuffed with lies.
Thanks, but the Son is long gone; his role as the physical vessel of the Almighty God, whose name is Jesus, is over. Jesus is Immanuel and He is the one who continues to shepherd and guide His sheep to their salvation and eternal life.I continue to lift you up to the Father, in Jesus' name. That the Father will draw you to His Son and you will repent and receive His unmerited favor.
