CHRISTIANS: Which are yours?

Christians:
What laws, ordinances or commandments do you keep that you don't agree with or understand? But you obey them anyway?
It seems like you are only accept the ones that you agree with.

You shall not steal
You shall not lie
etc...

Those aren't wrong because God said they are wrong. They're wrong because you know innately that they are wrong.
Your opinion of right and wrong wouldn't be any different if you didn't know God existed.

Again, my question is what laws, ordinances or commandments do you keep that you don't agree with or they don't make sense but you keep them anyway? Name one.

It's your OP. 1213 commented with a very logical question, based on your claim "Your opinion of right and wrong wouldn't be any different if you didn't know God existed". So, I join 1213 in asking, how do you know our opinion of right and wrong wouldn't be any different if we didn't know God existed?

I hope that helps ease your confusion concerning 1213's question.

Galatians 1:10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

We know that other animals have innate rudimentary morality.

So do humans.
However, our moral views are influenced by the societies we happen to live in.

The idea is called "Nature and Nurture" but you forgot to mention the nurture part.
Most of us are taught how to behave by our parents. We were nurtured to use the same moral principles and values as our society, even though we might always agree with them.

If I were the only human being, my 6 year old grandson says that everything would be free.
We would not have to pay for anything, there would be nobody to pay.

If we introduce other people, then when we take something that is not ours to begin with and don't pay, there will be legal consequences.

Lots of jails are full of people who have stolen property, they might have not taken other people into consideration when they did that.

I'm trying to work out the argument here, but struggle to follow the reasoning.

It seems parallel to this argument:
"You don't know that sunlight exists because you read about nuclear fusion in a textbook. You know it innately because you've experienced seeing sunlight.
Therefore, you should abandon your belief that nuclear fusion is the real source of sunlight, because you don't remotely need that theory to believe in sunlight."

Or this one:
"You don't know that 1 + 1 = 2 because of Russel's complex proof of the matter. You know that innately. Therefore, you should abandon your belief that Russel's proof is correct, because you don't remotely need that proof in order to believe that 1 + 1 = 2.

Setting aside any consideration about whether religion affects cultural attitudes about moral truths, why does knowing a thing exists through direct experience negate an argument about why that thing exists?
We must continually ask ourselves whether victory has become more central to our goals than truth.

I’m not sure that “agree with” or “don’t agree with” has anything to do with it. The commands of my Lord are: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, strength and soul. Love your neighbor as yourself.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.
