Jesus is God - Mark 5

Post by Wootah »

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?s ... ersion=NIV
19 Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” 20 So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.
Jesus restores a demon-possessed man and tells the man to go home and tell people what the Lord has done for him and how the Lord has had mercy on him. The man then went home and said what Jesus had done for him.

Was Jesus referring to himself as Lord, or did Jesus mean for the man to praise God?

Did the man forget to praise the Lord or did he praise the Lord when he praised Jesus?

If the man was incorrect and praised Jesus, rather than the Lord, why didn't Mark mention this?

Isn't this story in the Bible more proof that Jesus is God?

edit:

Would Jesus want to receive praise rather than God?

In case I haven't posted this before, below is the definition of Christendom's Trinity and the weblink to the source. Take careful note to the two words that I bolded and colorized within that definition. Next, read the scriptures that follow Christendom's definition of THEIR Trinity. Finally, answer the questions at the end of this post.

"There is but one living and true God, everlasting, without body, parts, or passions; of infinite power, wisdom, and goodness; the maker and preserver of all things both visible and indivisible. And in unity of this Godhead there be three persons, of ONE substance, POWER, and ETERNITY; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost."

Matthew 27:50 -- English Revised Version
"And Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit."

1 Corinthians 15:3 -- King James Bible
"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;"

QUESTION #8 to Capbook: According to scripture at Matthew 27:50 and 1 Corinthians 15:3, Jesus literally died. TRUE or FALSE?

True, His human body died but not His divine nature.
As usual, every answer you give is accompanied by more Trinitarian ideology because you are resisting scriptural correction.

Christendom's Trinity (quoted above) defines the Son as having ONE ETERNITY with the Father; remember? According to that definition, no part of Jesus should have died because an eternal person cannot die.

Definition of Eternal
adjective
"without beginning or end; lasting forever; always existing (temporal )."
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/eternal
eternal life.

Everything you wrote after "his human body died" is wrong. You are attempting to dance around scripture that says Jesus died. Nowhere in the Bible does it say any part of Jesus remained alive after his human body died.

QUESTION #10 to Capbook: If Jesus didn't really die when the Bible says he died, why did Jehovah have to resurrect him back to life after scriptures says Jesus was dead for three days?

QUESTION #11 to Capbook: Where, in the Judeo-Christian Bible, does it indicate Jesus' divine nature was still alive after his human body died? Identify Bible book, chapter(s) and verse(s).

I will not waste my time with your answer to Question #9, because you are repeating the same Trinitarian tripe that you gave to Question #8.

You are trying to push Trinity by telling me "Jesus said, all things the Father has are mine." That has nothing to do with a TRUE or FALSE answer to my Question #5.
Yes, the answer is TRUE.
Why forbid me to quote Bible verses to prove my point?
Is it hard to understand what Jesus said in John 16:15? To me the "all things the Father has are mine," means they are co-equal in power and eternal. Do you mean that the "all" not all?

The only part of your answer that is correct is the portion where you wrote "true." Jesus indeed stated at John 14:28 that the Father is greater. He said nothing whatsoever about it being "not in essence." At Colossians 2:9--which you introduced--where it says Jesus and Jehovah are of the same nature, that's with reference to them both being spirit beings. You then moved the goal post by telling me the Tetragrammaton is not the personal name of the Father. You are wrong. Furthermore, what has any of that to do with your TRUE or FALSE answer to Question #6? Nothing at all.
Strawman, what I mean is the "Tetragrammton" is the Father personal name not the Latinized used by the JWs.(Ex 6:2,3)

Yes, Jesus in human form is lower that the Father but they are one in divine nature as God. (Col 2:9)
The word "Godhead" bears Strong#G2320, in Greek "θεότης theotēs" defined by Bible lexicon as - the state of being God, etc.
It proves that Jesus is God.

Your attempt at maintaining your Trinitarian argument, while pretending to answer my questions, just flew in your face when you used the Trinitarian argument of "relational subordination." Look at my post where I quoted the definition of Christendom's Trinity. It says the three "persons" of Christendom's Trinity have the same power. If that were the case, any type of subordination debunks that claim. Only an inferior person would subordinate to someone else.

subordination
noun
": placement in a lower class, rank, or position : the act or process of subordinating someone or something or the state of being subordinated"
https://www.merriam-webster.com/diction ... ordination
Is your son NeutrtalZone superior to you or he is a subordinate to you? Do you follow the will of your son or your son follow your will? If your son is superior to you, then, that is an opposite to "relational subordination." It that doesn't follow God the Father's and Jesus' relationship.
NeutralZone wrote: You shot yourself in the foot with that ridiculous "relational subordination" Trinitarian lingo. You are contradicting scripture by telling me Jesus has "relational subordination" to Jehovah but they are still the same god. You refuse to be corrected by Jesus' own words where he said the Father is greater (John 14:28) and where he said he cannot do anything on his own (John 5:30). When has the Father ever said he cannot do anything on his own? Never! Jesus is the only person that has ever said such a thing with regard to his relationship position with Jehovah the Father.
Is your son greater than you that you obey his will? Or you are greater that you son that he obeys your will?
God the Father and Jesus are one and the same in the nature of being God.
Just like you and your son are one and the same in the nature of being human.

QUESTION #10 to Capbook: If Jesus didn't really die when the Bible says he died, why did Jehovah have to resurrect him back to life after scriptures says Jesus was dead for three days?
The Trinity have the power to resurrect whom God alone can give life to the dead. Jesus Himself said it (John 2:19-21)
The Spirit resurrect Jesus.(Rom 8:11) and God (Acts 4:10)

Jhn 2:19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."
Jhn 2:20 The Jews then said, "It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?"
Jhn 2:21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body.

Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Act 4:10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health.

The verse below speaks of His flesh died, being in the nature of God doesn't die.(Col 2:9)
The “quickened by the Spirit” means “alive in spirit.” Although His body was in the tomb, His spirit, which is the Holy Spirit, who is also called the Spirit of Christ is alive.

1Pe 3:18 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

Capbook:

The answer to any TRUE or FALSE question cannot have anything other than TRUE or FALSE.

FYI: None of the scriptures you quoted (after you wrote TRUE or after you wrote FALSE) was correct because they did not change the fact that the answer to the question was either TRUE or FALSE.

Actually, Capbook, you're the only person between the two of us having a hard time understanding what Jesus said at John 16:15. Jesus made it clear at that verse that the Father is the owner of what he refers to as "all things" by starting the sentence off with "all things the Father has...." Jesus' statement at that verse of scripture could not possibly indicate he and the father are co-equal because Jesus himself said otherwise. At Post 64, I quoted scripture where Jesus said the Father is greater than he, then I followed the scriptural quotation with a TRUE or FALSE question that was supposed to help you see the light. Notice below.

John 14:28 -- New International Version
“You heard me [Jesus] say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I."

Instead of giving me a TRUE or FALSE answer, you (as usual) decided to fight against scriptural correction by telling me your personal philosophy which is NOT supported by any of the scriptures you quoted. Notice below:

True, Jesus in His human nature the Father is greater but not in essence. They are both the same in the nature of being God. (Col 2:9) As "God" is not the personal name of the Father. Even not the Latinized Tetragrammaton.

There are no scriptures in the Bible in support of what you stated above (which I bolded in blue).

Capbook,

Scripture indicates Jesus is NOT eternal because he literally died. I demonstrated that to you at Post 64 where I quoted several verses of scripture that you can find in your own copy of the Bible. I even provided you with the definition of "eternal." Then I followed the scriptures and the definition with questions to help you reason on the matter. You refused to reason on the scriptures, as noted below:

QUESTION #8 to Capbook: According to scripture at Matthew 27:50 and 1 Corinthians 15:3, Jesus literally died. TRUE or FALSE?

QUESTION #9 to Capbook: According to scripture at Psalm 90:2 and 1 Timothy 6:15-16, Jehovah God is everlasting and can never die. TRUE or FALSE?

Below are your answers, indicating you could care less about what the Bible says because your love affair with a 3-prong god takes precedence.

True, His human body died but not His divine nature.
NeutralZone wrote: QUESTION #9 to Capbook: According to scripture at Psalm 90:2 and 1 Timothy 6:15-16, Jehovah God is everlasting and can never die. TRUE or FALSE?
True, God will not die, as to Jesus His human form died not His Divine form. (Phi 2:6-8)
BTW: Your disagreement with me on this topic will not change the fact that the idea of a 3-in-1 god showed up in for the first time in Christendom 300 years after the Bible was written. Neither will your refusal to be corrected have any effect on the historical fact that the dogma of a 3-prong god was formulated under two Roman emperors (Emperor Constantine and Emperor Theodosius) -- both of them pagans who worshipped the sun and who got involved for political reasons.

If you want more facts on the history of Christendom's Trinity, I can post that at a later time. But I see no point in giving you anymore scriptures followed by questions, because it's clear to me that you don't care what the Bible says.

NeutralZone good day, to shorten the discussion may I have your interpretation with why the Father and Jesus being rendered by one and the same worship in Revelation 3:13,14?

Rev 5:13  And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, "To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever."
Rev 5:14  And the four living creatures kept saying, "Amen." And the elders fell down and worshiped.
