Although I am an atheist, I find it interesting to see how the Bible is used/exploited in modern times. I came across a just launched (found on DIGG) website where users can give their personal Bible commentaries on every single Bible verse. They can even vote for their favourite Bible verse with a nifty AJAX applet.

It is a first class human tragedy that people of the earth who claim to believe in the message of Jesus, whom they describe as the Prince of Peace, show little of that belief in actual practice.

A modernly writen Bible is what the Vatican should be working on but here as most other places the Vatican is absent or quiet.
Perhaps this is why Christianity is fracturing into so many sects.
A moder interpretation or version would go a long way in helping guys like me who use logic with scripture to show others what we are talking about when talking snake and other metaphors are recognized for what they are. It would eliminate people looking for real demons and fish that spit out men after three days.
