"Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
_ Genesis 12
Ireland has just joined South Africa in condemning Israel for Genocide.
Far-Right Israeli Minister Calls for Destruction of West Bank Cities reads the headline.
Most of the world condemns Israel for the 46,000 Palestinians killed in Gaza while Israel continues to occupy and homestead in the West Bank. Fundamentalist Christians back the criminal Netanyahu, Israel's answer to Hitler.
The Bible is drenched in false prophesies, but is this the worst? ... the most obvious? The most genocidal? God promised to make Abram prosper and that the world would bless his country for marching into another country, killing, raping, pillaging, and enslaving them; and the world will bless them for it?!
Is this a joke? How ignorant and biased do you have to be to believe these lies and rubbish? No wonder Christians support the constant lies of Donald Trump; there is a long history They have a long history of believing lies. 3000-4000 years of constant warfare and the Abrahamic religions have always been at the center of the killing.
Praise God!

Re: Biggest False Prophesy in the Bible
Post #2The most perplexing thing is how religious Jews can believe that this is fulfillment of their prophecies when the restored Israel of biblical prophecy is supposed to be established by the Messiah himself when he appears and ushers in an age of universal peace (see the later chapters of Ezekiel). They pride themselves on knowing how to spot false messiahs. How do they not recognize a false Israel?

Re: Biggest False Prophesy in the Bible
Post #3Even if you don't think Abraham's nation is great, it doesn't mean it is not. I think the prophesy is true. And it is interesting, did U.S become great because they were on Israel's side and now that they actually are not, they are falling?Diogenes wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:33 pm "Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. Raping? Enslaving?
I think the blessing comes from Jesus and his teachings. And the greatness of Jews is from the words of God, not from killing, raping, pillaging, and enslaving.
I think killing, raping, pillaging, and enslaving are not good. But, how could Jews be blamed for that, when their enemies do the same? I think one of the most annoying things is how biased are those who are against Jews. No problem when others do those things, but if Jews do those it is suddenly a problem.
It seems to me that now people get exactly what they wish for others and I don't see why it would be bad. Maybe they should wish something better for others, if they are not happy with what they get.

That's a Tu Quoque argument. Are you familiar with the old addage, "Two wrongs don't make a right"?I think killing, raping, pillaging, and enslaving are not good. But, how could Jews be blamed for that, when their enemies do the same?

Re: Biggest False Prophesy in the Bible
Post #6I agree with "Two wrongs don't make a right". But, how can people think it is right when enemies of Israel do it, and wrong, if Israel does it? It is extremely annoying to listen them whining, when they don't have any problem with bad actions, when their side does them.Athetotheist wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 9:18 am [Replying to 1213 in post #3]

It isn't a choice between violence against Israel and violence by Israel. BOTH are wrong.I agree with "Two wrongs don't make a right". But, how can people think it is right when enemies of Israel do it, and wrong, if Israel does it? It is extremely annoying to listen them whining, when they don't have any problem with bad actions, when their side does them.

Re: Biggest False Prophesy in the Bible
Post #8This is the kind of sloppy generalization and appeal to the supernatural I am used to here, especially by those who take any criticism of Israel as antisemitism. This is both unethical and reckless. There are thousands, if not millions of Jews who condemn Netanyahu and his genocide, not to mention Zionism in general.
In any event, you did not address the argument about the failed prophesy. Instead you acknowledged its falsity by agreeing that many people hate Israel and Jews. The truth is, Israel was a horrible mistake brought about by antisemitism. Many of the Non Jews who supported the formation of Israel did so to get the Jews out of Europe. Antisemitism created Israel.

Re: Biggest False Prophesy in the Bible
Post #10Sorry Maam, but doesn't you use generalization too? Labeling billions of people as ‘ignorant’ and ‘biased’ for holding God's promise. Did you know how to distinguish between criticizing specific actions or policies and demonizing entire group of people? And to state 'Christians' which mean the whole Christian and not just some, as having a long history of believing lies? Wow...such hatred you have there.
"God promised to make Abram prosper" and that is true. Abraham is wealthy, his numbers greatly increased and God use his name that He called as God of Abraham. But God does not promised "that the world would bless his country for marching into another country, killing, raping, pillaging, and enslaving them", it just created in your mind for God does not said it. " and the world will bless them for it?!" No, the world will bless them because Jesus born from Abraham's lineage. Its what it means by "and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed" because Jesus is the descendant of Abraham
