If a spirit being can inhabit a physical body can it be said that when the body bleeds the spirit bleeds?
When my body is cut - am I bleeding?
Can an angel appear in a body with flesh and blood?
What is your view and why can or can't God occupy a human body and if it is cut that it should bleed and if the body should die can't we say the body God was in died?
Are we fully material or soul and body?
Lots of questions.
Can God bleed?

Post #2Toanswer the OP topic question;
Genesis tells that christian god made MAN resembling himself.
Therefore evangelical christians even were seen on the internet debating wildly about GODS PENIS.
Therefore, yes! It would be NOT the Mangler Argument Fallacy to assume that the christian god can possibly bleed!

Re: Can God bleed?
Post #5I don't know about "flesh and blood" but biblically they can certainly present themselves in human form (look like humans) since the bible reports encounters with what appeared to be "men" but in fact turned out to be angels.

Post #6Yes .If the body bleeds then the Spirit must bleed or what's the point. One might as well have the body die as a sacrifice for sin but the 'self' doesn't so nothing is sacrificed.

Re: Can God bleed?
Post #7God is immortal so death (as in absense of all life) is a logical impossibility. This is like saying can light be the absence of light. Also scripture states no man (human) can see God and live, so scripturally God has chosen never to present himself in human form.

Post #8Well then, Christianity means nothing as the blood sacrifice of Jesus means nothing. A man died, but a god didn't.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 1:20 pmGod is immortal so death (as in absense of all life) is a logical impossibility. Of course you may say that Jesus was not God, but be prepared to be hounded down by the other Christians for finally fessing up one of the JW dogmas they are careful to keep hidden. And you know what they call a religion with a lot to hide.

Re: Can God bleed?
Post #10According to the Bible he can and did. Since we have what we call 'a spirit' (our mentality) theoretically another could also inhabit it. The Bible seems to envisage the two spirits - God and Jesus, inhabiting the same body, but with God keeping things from Jesus on a 'need to know' basis. Liuke he didn'tknow who touched him, he didn't know that he would be talked into helping the syrio - phoenecian woman, and he didn't know that Noah and the Flood never happened (unless he was using the wrong belief of the tome to make a teaching point - which was also open to question) and he apparently didn'tknow there was no point asking to be let off crucifixion as it had to happen, no question.Wootah wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 5:53 pm [Replying to JehovahsWitness in post #7]
Can God inhabit a flesh and blood body?
Of course, the Holy Spirit was also supposed to be iun there, rent Free. It must have been a bit cramped. I hope nobody snored.
But it makes it all easier if one takes it as the clumsy invention of 2nd c theologians. Not the mangler fallacy...what was that again? I couldn't find it. I recall it cropped up before and I can't recall what it was or whether it was valid, in positive or reverse form.
