Should misinformation be banned from the major platforms?

Post by Daedalus X »

For this topic misinformation is any information that promotes needle hesitancy or anti authoritarian approved information.

Here is an example of misinformation that can't be posted to YouTube, twitter, Facebook or any mainline medium. Is this good public policy?

This is a MUST WATCH.

Thank you for that......... and so please can you confirm that it is possible for a male with an XY chromosome pair to be asexual?

You might also tell me if you think a woman with an XX chromosome pair can be asexual?
As brunumb commented, sex preferences are separate from biological sex makeup.
Who told you that? Asexuality is not a preference......it is a physical condition, surely?

Who decided that Asexuality is just choice or preference? That's a bit like telling that IQ is a preference, surely?

:? Do you really not understand the difference between those two? Biological sex relates to one's physical characteristics, you know, genitalia and such. Attractions are feelings that individuals have for others.

Why would that be the case? For instance, what is different in the biological assembly of gay men compared with straight men?

I'm not sure why you brought this up. I am not religious in any way. That they may be finally catching up with the rest of society is a good thing, but their opinions don't matter when it comes to the reality of sex and gender.

In that case please explain the nature of that physical condition. If one has no interest at all in watching sport, is that due to a physical condition? What could it be? Similarly, how do you account for not having a sexual attraction to anyone based on some physical condition?

Who decided that Asexuality is just choice or preference? That's a bit like telling that IQ is a preference, surely?
I didn't claim there was no genetic basis for asexuality that could explain why someone has that preference, but barring some other physical problem (eg. if male, ED, or inability to obtain or maintain an erection due to lack of interest), an asexual person could presumably engage in sex and reproduce just like any other person. Nothing in their physical makeup prevents them from being a sexual being, but for whatever reason they don't have any interest in sex (which I admit is unusual). But that fact that, physically, they could engage in sex suggests that being asexual is a decision, a preference, a choice they've made (regardless of the reason for it). I don't like eggs, but there is nothing stopping me from eating them besides my own preference and lack of desire.

I wouldn't put IQ and asexuality in the same category. A person with a low IQ cannot suddenly decide to have a high IQ. But an asexual person could suddenly decide they wanted to involve themselves in sexual activity and physically do it ... they just prefer not to for whatever reason.
In human affairs the sources of success are ever to be found in the fountains of quick resolve and swift stroke; and it seems to be a law, inflexible and inexorable, that he who will not risk cannot win.

boatsnguitars wrote: Fri Jul 07, 2023 9:58 am I would like to point out that this forum is probably one of the worst places to have this debate, since it is set up to discuss ancient, misogynist, patriarchal, anti-scientific ideas based on conservative religious views. Great place to talk about ancient manuscripts and who Christians are supposed to be bigoted against, not a place to talk about biological discoveries past - oh, say, 200CE.

I'd encourage everyone to approach the research with an open mind.
Wow. The transgender movement is all about shutting down debate and using misinformation and pseudoscience to push their agenda. Threaten and punish the dissenters for even trying to engage in debate. That said, this might be useful to anyone wishing to understand what is actually meant by open-mindedness.:

I'm guessing there is going to be a reason why you can't watch this one.
