Any comments?
[Spiritual] food is the truth found in the Bible. The slave of Matthew 24 gives (prepares and serves) the food , he doesn't
create it. So even if the Slave has an incorrect understanding of the truth, the truth in the bible that he is serving is unchanging.
To illustrate : A cook prepares a meal (perhaps boiled potatoes and asparagus) in a restaurant. He he prepares it to the best of his ability but the meal is not perfect; the potatoes a little undercooked, maybe not enough salt. But you're hungry (its time to eat) and he brought you the food at the proper time. Is there something wrong with the potatoes themselves? Did God make them come out of the ground wrong? Did the salt malfunction... is the asparagus genetically modified? in short is the food wrong or does the cook have to improve his skills?
Jesus did not say the Slave would be approved if he "never gets anything wrong" , he said the slave "... is approved if he gives "food at the proper time?" In other words "feed them, when they are be hungry" The slave class may have gotten things wrong, lacked tact on occasions, but they produced the meal when asked to do so (and have improved in skills as time has progressed) and for this can be pronounced "happy".
