Many people have debated about this, but I have not found any conclusive
answer yet. Is masturbation sinful?

I'm not here to argue, simply to address the issue to the best of my ability.
Very well, though this IS a debating website, so don't be too surprised when people challenge your assertions.
He is not "merely" or "craftily invisible." He is everywhere you look.
I know how sincerely you believe this, but really think about what you're saying here. Would you be able to draw a picture for me of what the devil looks like? I don't see HIM anywhere, and neither do you. You see unpleasant things everywhere and ATTRIBUTE them to the work of Satan, but you certainly don't see Satan, unless you are hallucinating.

You are going to have to show me some evidence that the wrong-doing in the world has a supernatural origin and isn't because humans are....human. I often find it confusing how the religious simply cannot come to terms with the unsympathetic universe - people die in horrible ways, natural disasters abound, people act immorally, but ALL of these things have NATURAL explanations. There's no need to ascribe a reason to evil, that is your desperate attempt to rationalize things you don't like.

Masturbation is fine however you do it. Lusting after someone in isolation has no consequence and is therefore null in the moral stakes. If you then act out your lusts against someone's will you have crossed the line. It is the old clash of Utilitarian morality vs. Axiological morality. You can be lifted clear of any concerns about your actions if they harm no-one else. It's so intensely liberating, and IS NOT the work of an imaginary being.

The burden of evidence is on YOU to prove Satan has any influence on the world, or even exists.
To the believer, no proof is necessary; to the skeptic, no proof is enough.

My family was very poor. We could not afford much, not even cereal. Our breakfast consisted of stale bread, and we would add milk and sugar to it. Sometimes we would be lucky and have cinnamon to add to our breakfast. By today's standards, this was not a nutritious breakfast, but we were grateful for it.

I can't remember ever getting toys for Chrismas, birthdays we did not celebrate. If a gift was to be had, it would be some second hand clothing that we could afford. my parents were glad i was a male child so that when I got older, I would have something to play with. That is all I have to say on this topic. The luck of the irish to you all.

Is there a victim to the deed? If not then no sin.

"See we're catholic."

"oh then you want 'you're a sinner and that's evil coming out of you."

Woody Allen used to say that masturbation is sex with someone you love. And what a great topic for a debate forum: To help people become master-debators! :D

I, at this point, don't have much to add to this discussion
that is constructive. I was told that if you did it too much you would go blind. So, I just did it til I needed glasses.......... :D

Is urinating sinful? What about clipping my toenails? In Lord of the rings, Hobbits were not allowed to shave thier feet, yet I dont consider it sinful for one to shave his or her feet.

o.O
aanyhow, masturbation is sin because it is satisfiing lust, falling to temptation. And if you hear someone say no, its just a fony attempt to cover for their weakness against sexual desire.

well, what is bad? Who defines evil? Were did we come from? Why are we here? Who casts fear of death, a border we do not understand? Who gives reason? What is life? Why do we love? What is death? Why do we hate? Were will it end? Who has the plan? How do we live?... And to answer these questions you want a visible answer? Truth is, man SEES nothing. If a catastrophe is evil then what is good? and no, noone gives satan credit for catastrophes. why is the "terminology" and its complisity make things less true?

the dead horse is officially in pieces.

you haven't read all of the key points mentioned within this topic. Just merely added by adding more irrevalent questions.
