Welcome Wheels,
I am temporarily sharing with you the use of a wheelchair (cast on leg due to bone and ligament damage). Instead of having the cast removed yesterday as I expected, the doctor recommended another two weeks so it is now <mark> 13 days, five hours, fifty-eight minutes. (I'm not anxious at all.)
We have many interesting discussions and your POV will be very welcome. There is a reasonable balance between religionists and non-religionists and most are reasonably respectful of each other. A few are obstinate and abusive.
I will look forward to your posts.

Wow, twenty-four years in a wheelchair. You must know how to maneuver one pretty well. Do you use a specialized or racing chair (looks like it in the photo)? Do you mind saying what happened (no pressure or expectation)?
I had a friend who made himself a hand-cranked bicycle with which he could outrun most leg-power cyclists. He had some ARMS. Another friend owned and operated a bulldozer without use of his legs. He got aboard with a hoist he designed to lift himself by arm power. Both of those guys were Nam vets.
This is my first serious injury in almost seventy years. I tell everyone who asks that my wife kicked me because I smarted-off at her. The truth is that I was cutting a large, high tree limb with a pole-saw and didn’t get out of the way when it fell differently than expected – and it rearranged my ankle enough to require surgery.
The Veteran’s Administration (VA) takes care of my health needs as a benefit for my non-remarkable service in the US Army almost fifty years ago. From my experience it is excellent health care. I am not too far from one of the nation’s top VA hospitals – Little Rock, Arkansas. I couldn’t ask for better or more thorough care in this matter and others.
Well, friend, get your inner wheels turning and add new dimensions to these threads with a Scottish accent.

Hi Zzyzx! What bad luck to have an injury like that after so long! Still, hopefully you will be back on your feet soon.
I was diagnosed with MS when paraplegis came on 24 years ago. I have been basically stable since so think it was more likely transverse myeletis though names don't really help. Yep, my avatar is my present wheelchair, though the cushion has been replaced with a better one. It is a very onld design but aseems to work well,
