Mithrism and Christianity...

How can we explain the oh-so-obvious similarities between the two religion? I'll admit that I haven't searched or researched it enough but since I know you guys have more knowledge about it than I do, I just came to you.

So is there a clear-cut way of explaining or is it just speculation?
