Divorce

Although we have a very large problem with divorce in our countries, strictly speaking, would it actually be better for society if the option of divorce didn't exist at all?

Sure.
Lets just force those battered and raped wives to stay in the home until their brute simply kills them.
And while we're at it, why not make sure she also cant leave with her children so that maybe he can harm them as well.

Gods intent was not to keep marriages together no matter what.
Exodus 21 shows Gods heart in the matter before this frivolous divorce got out of hand. A wife is to be taken care of by her husband. Where the spouse is in constant breach of covenant there is every indication that God allows divorce and so should we.
