Major site upgrade
Post #1I'm looking into updating the server and I'm realizing this is going to be a major overhaul. The software on this site is really old (phpBB 2.0.x) and running on an old OS (CentOS 6). By upgrading to CentOS 8, it will make all existing code incompatible (PHP, phpBB). It looks like the only way to upgrade is to use phpBB 3.3. What that means is ALL customizations to the forum will be lost and it will go back to a stock forum. This will mean things like tokens, likes, MPG, etc will not be on the new forum.

Re: Major site upgrade
One major point is the passwords were not migrated. So, you'll need to reset your password.
Things will still be tweaked in the near future. But if you see anything that needs to be fixed, post here.

Post #4Sending email is not working for some. It's not able to send to very strict email providers, but it is able to send to gmail accounts.

Hi Otseng
Any chance you want to post upgrade projects on this forum to inform us, the users, on the development?
Maybe you could get tips from us to inspire you or possibly help you a bit. I guess you want to develop this updated place, right?

Re: Major site upgrade
Post #10I've installed the latest version of phpbb (3.3). Unfortunately, there's not a lot of extensions built for it. So, not much I can do to improve it. Right now, I'm trying to improve some of the backend stuff like security.Aetixintro wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 8:48 pm Any chance you want to post upgrade projects on this forum to inform us, the users, on the development?

But, one thing that people could suggest is what graphic should be at the top of the forum? Currently, it's just the graphic that comes with the style.
