Lying for Islam

Post by McCulloch »

Lying for Islam.

In recent debates, deliberate falsehoods have been presented by proponents of Islam. Now, I am willing to admit that the debater here may not have been trying to deceive us, but simply passing on what he thought was correct information while neglecting to even perform a simple check of the facts. So the responsibility for the deception may be in his sources. The source cited was Kavkaz-Center on materials of Islamic internet MASS MEDIA. According to Answering Islam, this hoax has been disseminated (and continues to be) by Waqf Ikhlas, Istanbul and Al-Furqan-Ta-Ha.

Jacques Cousteau, Will Smith, Neil Armstrong, Michael Jackson, Maurice Bucaille, King Offa of Mercia, Abdu'l-Ahad Dawud (Professor David Benjamin Keldani), who Muslims falsely claim was a former Catholic Bishop and The Coptic Cardinal Abu Ishaq have all been subject to false claims of conversion to Islam.

I will admit my ignorance about many of the teachings of Islam. I know that Judaism, Christianity and Humanism all claim to value the importance of intellectual honesty.

The question for debate is, does Islam allow, encourage or tolerate lying and fabrication for the benefit of Islam?
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

The truth will make you free.

I don't care where you sit.

Is there a reason you bold and italicize every post you make? This is a bit much for the other members of the forum to have to deal with on a constant basis.

But to the topic:

The Arabic Koran is the meaningful Koran. The English Koran is not the same bit and the translation is not exact. In a more specific manner, the modern Arabic Koran is a perversion of the actual text. Therefore, if you want to speak as an authority on the Koran, you need to learn ancient Arabic. Isn't that an awful way to conduct a religion?

PS: you are wrong about the death for apostate issue. Read the ahadith and the commentary by the As-Salaf as-Saalih as well as the modern Imam. Islam is a despicable superstition when you actually study the content of the mythology.

It is not a crime, it is merely an unnecessary element in forum communication. It intentionally draws away from content to formatting. It is "showy" for no other purpose.

Imagine if everyone posting in different formating styles. This would be disruptive to the forum.

I support Ms_Maryam's RIGHT to format her posts anyway she deems fit.

You make [strike]quite a claim[/strike] a false claim. When you say
This is a bit much for the other members of the forum to have to deal with on a constant basis.
I have not seen
  • any other posters complain
    me complain
    any valid reason to complain
So Ms_Maryam, you post any way you like. If it is a reflection on the points you try to present, though I can't imagine how, then let the record show that Rathpig don't like it. But please, don't let him tell you I give one diddly dang how you wish to format your posts.

Also keep in mind, and here I go out on a similar limb Rathpig fell from, but I speak for the forum members when I say we noticed the typo, we understood what you meant, and we didn't see any need in calling this to your attention.

Don't be a quibbler, debate your points and move on. We all make mistakes, and we all 'speak' in the 'voices' we have or wish to use.

I'm gonna use +8 bold green centered font. After all, what does it matter. It's a style thang. We should have flashy sigs and animoted avatars!

Rathpig, you can't be serious. lol

I don't understand why some people like to pick at petty things. Is there a rule on this board that says, you can't type bold and italicize. If so, let me know, and I will immediately stop. The ppl who made this site put the "bold" "underline" and the other buttons up there for a reason..... for us to use to our fancy.

If you want to use +8 bold green centered font, then go right ahead!

It will neither add nor take away from your post...Same for me.

And it's not disruptive.

Ot perhaps you have been led to brainwashing for the biased against Islam you might have heard from people around you?

No, there´s no worldly punishment for an apostate. The Qur´an doesn´t support this at all.
O People! See the difference between Mullah-ism and Islam. They both are two opposite things.

And the basis of your scholarship would be?

I think I have outlined the source of my concern coming from commentary by both the companions of the prophet and authors of ahadith. This is also a common element of current Sharia law. So is the opinion of a single Muslim seeking to defend their personal interpretation greater than the collective scholarship and legal system of Islam?

Or is it common to lie for the sake of promoting Islam?
