Who owns Gods invention

Patent applications were published in February 2005 at the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in Geneva. Monsanto (American Company) is seeking patents not only on methods of breeding, but on actual breeding herds of pigs as well as the offspring that result.

"If these patents are granted, Monsanto can legally prevent breeders and farmers from breeding pigs whose characteristics are described in the patent claims, or force them to pay royalties," says Then. "It's a first step toward the same kind of corporate control of an animal line that Monsanto is aggressively pursuing with various grain and vegetable lines."

Basically Monsanto has patented naturally occuring genes in plants and is now trying to patent naturally occuring genes within animals. Currently if you grow corn or wheat that contains the patented genes.... you owe Monsanto money. Soon if you farm pigs and they contain the gene Monsanto patent..... you owe Monsanto money.

Monsanto is the most evil company in existence. They are involved in Genetically modifying plants and animals and already sell these to humans. Their genetically modified corn is steril so as it cant breed in the wild, the side effect is that any animal that consumes this corn will also be steril.

Monsanto is an extremly rich an powerful company that even the US government is too afraid to stand up too whilst it ruins american farmers.

Do you think a Company has the right to claim a plant or animal as its invention?
Do you think a company has the right to alter and modify the genes of an animal and sell to humans?
Do you this is a great opportunity for Christians too band together and fight Monsanto's claim they created the Pig on the basis that "God" created life?

I don't know why opposition to the idea that naturally occurring genes are subject to patent protection should be limited to Christians. As a Humanist, I see no benefit to human society and much potential harm in this trend.
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

I agree with you, it is not an issue than should be limited to Christians as it will effect all of humanity, but nothing kicks like a fundamentalist.

The core belief of all the abrahemic faiths is God created life, I think for a company to claim the right to gods invention is not only against humanity but a kick in the guts to all religions
