Jesus is God - Jude - Michael does not rebuke Satan

Jude 1:9 Even the archangel Michael, when he argued with the Devil and fought over the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him. Instead, he said, “May the Lord rebuke you!”
Matthew 4
International Standard Version
Jesus is Tempted by Satan
4 After this, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil. 2 After fasting for 40 days and 40 nights, he finally became hungry.

3 Then the tempter came. “Since[a] you are the Son of God,” he said, “tell these stones to become loaves of bread.”

4 But he answered, “It is written,

‘One must not live on bread alone,
but on every word coming
out of the mouth of God.’”

5 Then the Devil took him to the Holy City and had him stand on the highest point of the Temple. 6 He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,

‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’

and,

‘With their hands they will hold you up,
so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’”

7 Jesus responded to him, “It is also written, ‘You must not tempt the Lord your God.’”

8 Once more the Devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, along with their splendor. 9 He told Jesus, “I will give you all these things if you will bow down and worship me!”

10 Then Jesus told him, “Go away, Satan! Because it is written,

‘You must worship the Lord your God
and serve only him.’”

11 So the Devil left him, and angels came and began ministering to him.

Michael does not rebuke Satan and says May the Lord rebuke you.
Jesus does rebuke Satan.

Therefore:
Jesus is not Michael.
Jesus is the Lord.
Jesus is God.

Does this prove Jesus is not Michael?
Does this prove Jesus is God?
Proverbs 18:17 The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.

No. Michael said "may the Lord [YHWH] rebuke you." That is what he meant by "the Lord." (Jehovah's name did appear in the New Testament until about the second century and then it was removed. Just like it has been removed in the Old Testament in most English language versions.) Michael didn't want to disrespect God, the Father, but left rebuking up to Him. Where does Jesus rebuke Satan? I don't see it.

Jesus did not rebuke Satan because He respectfully deferred to his superior, The LORD Jehovah (YHWH) the Father. This is a good scripture to prove that even in heaven, Jesus is not equal in authority to Almighty God.

Jesus heavenly name is evidently Michael.

The actual scripture says this: "When Michael the archangel had a difference with the Devil and was disputing about Moses' body, he did not dare to bring a judgment against him in abusive terms, but said: 'May the LORD [YHWH] rebuke you.'" (Jude 9)

It doesn't say that they were fighting. They just had a heavy conversation with different viewpoints.

Did JacksonDeville win? He had Catholic art as evidence.
Either the Gospel works as advertised, or is fraudulent hocus-pocus!

Either Jesus is a real person who saves those who come to Him, or Christians are in bondage to legions of opposing theological factions, whereby the cross of Christ has no effect!!! 1 Corinthians 1:17,18

Is Christianity not proven false by its own claims? :(

Revelation 12 has Michael fighting Satan so it sounds like he is able to fight him in end times

Could it be that this Michael is Jesus that fights and defeat Satan in Revelation 12:7-8?

Jude 1:9 Yet *Michael the archangel*, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

This verse is a virtual duplicate of another Old Testament event-

Zec 3:1 And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the *angel of the LORD*, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
Zec 3:2 And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

In both Jude 9 and Zech 3:1-2 it is Jesus, the *angel of the LORD* who is also *Michael the archangel*, contending with Satan for both Moses and Joshua.

Dear Wootah,

People can offer their many man made opinions, but you are right on target on this one. I stand with you on this topic.

Note: Jesus, who thus takes on the role played by angels, and especially by Michael, in Judaism.

Michael is mentioned explicitly in Revelation 12:7-12, where he does battle with Satan and casts him out of heaven so that he no longer has access to God as accuser (his formal role in the Old Testament).[14] The fall of Satan at the coming of Jesus marks the separation of the New Testament from Judaism.[21] In Luke 22:31 Jesus tells Peter that Satan has asked God for permission to "sift" the disciples, the goal being to accuse them, but the accusation is opposed by Jesus, who thus takes on the role played by angels, and especially by Michael, in Judaism.[22]

Michael is mentioned by name for the second time in the Epistle of Jude, a passionate plea for believers in Christ to do battle against heresy.[23] In verses 9–10 the author denounces the heretics by contrasting them with the archangel Michael, who, disputing with Satan over the body of Moses, "did not presume to pronounce the verdict of 'slander' but said, 'The Lord punish you!'[24] (Wikipedia)
