7 Deadly sins
Post #1I was discussing one of Cmass's threads about pride being a sin with another doctor I work with, and he said it was one of the 7 deadly sins. It hit me as funny because I can't find the place in the bible where these are listed. Though I know what the 7 reportedly are, where in scripture does it specifically say these are the seven deadly sins and there is no forgiveness for them regardless of you repentance?

7 deadly sins? Hmm … the 10 commandments are 10 deadly sins. The bible tells me any sin is in itself deadly b/c it sends me to hell. The whole message of scripture is to believe in Christ and practice His teachings. This is the standard by which we live.
7 deadly sins … that cannot be forgiven? This isn’t in scripture. The ONLY unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Every other sin man commits CAN and IS forgiven through confession and repentance.
However, forgiveness does not imply bad-debts 100% written off. Forgiveness means our sins are forgiven. That dirty rag which we are is washed pure white. When we sin, we must pay, it is called retribution. We may not have to pay in full but we need to pay some portion of it. I think this is the reason many who are suffering are also questioning their suffering b/c they don’t understand the retribution concept.
