Q: If the above is true, are we to suppose that Adam [and Eve] were implanted upon the planet in forms which did not evolve naturally, in order to account for the 6,000 years the 2nd biblical story of creation works off of [specific to Humans], when we know that the human form evolved through a far longer period of time?myth-one.com wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 7:34 pmThe creation of Adam & Eve can be traced back to about 6,000 years ago. But the earth is about 4.55 billion years of age according to scientists.
From this point there are two possibilities: Either God created the earth originally without form, void, and dark; or God created the earth as "good" and over time it came to be without form, void, and dark.In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. (Genesis 1:1-2)
Before making that choice, note that everything God created in Genesis beginning in verse 3 of chapter 1 was said to be "good" by God.
Also, other translations of the original Hebrew text indicate that something occurred and the earth had reached this state. For example, the New International Version® of the Bible renders the same verses as follows:
That is, God originally created the heavens and the earth good in verse one, and over a period of time the earth had become formless, void, and dark.In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty; darkness was over the surface of the deep... (Genesis 1:1-2)
The Biblical evidence points to the idea that Genesis 1:1 describes the complete original creation of the heaven and the earth:
This verse is all the info we are given about the original creation of the heaven and the earth. We are not told more because it does not affect us. In fact, Adam and Eve do not appear until the re-creation of the decimated earth which does not occur until about 4.55 billion years later. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
That re-creation begins in Genesis 1:3.
============== How Paleontology supports the biblical account above =============
Dinosaurs became extinct about 66 million years ago according to Paleontologists.
Adam and Eve were created about 6,000 years ago.
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
Since man was created in a six-earthly-day creation 6,000 years ago, and dinosaurs roamed the earth billions of years ago, then paleontology supports the biblical account that the earth was created billions of years ago and had come to be without form, void, and dark sometime prior to 6,000 years ago.
That is, Genesis 1:1 describes the original creation of the heaven and the earth, and Genesis 1:3 then begins the re-creation of a formless, void, and dark earth to it's original good condition.
The Bible and Paleontology are complementary on this accounting.

Were the human forms prior to Adam & Eve created after the image and likeness of God?

Is your question related to the OPQ?
I don't know as it is unclear to me what you are referring to - can you elaborate? Were the human forms prior to Adam & Eve created after the image and likeness of God?

Post #4My question is related to the OPQ, which appears to equate the creation of Adam and Eve with the creation of earlier human type beings.William wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:23 pm [Replying to myth-one.com in post #2]

Is that your intention?
My post ask you if those humanoids created prior to as Adam & Eve were created after the image and likeness of God, as were Adam & Eve.
Is that your intent implied by the heading -- "Biblical Creation Stories - Same Event - Different Day" ?

The OPQ asks a question based upon the post you made. Are we to suppose that Adam [and Eve] were implanted upon the planet in forms which did not evolve naturally, in order to account for the 6,000 years the 2nd biblical story of creation works off of [specific to Humans], when we know that the human form evolved through a far longer period of time?
Is this what you are claiming - that A&E we planted upon this planet and did not evolve here naturally? By the wording in your post, this appears to be what you are saying.
Are you saying something different?

That is how Adam and Eve came into the world. And God said, Let us make man after our image, after our likeness... (Genesis 1:26)
You can compare that with how other life evolved as soon as we learn how other life evolved.

But we already know that Human life evolved in a time-frame which contradicts your claim that Adam and Eve were created about 6,000 years ago.
The only way your claim might be true is if you are also saying that Adam and Eve were not a natural product of the process all other life-forms were brought into existence, but were created somewhere else and then planted here.
But for that to be true, there should be evidence in Human DNA which shows us that.

Human life was evolving during Adam and Eve's lifetime and is still evolving today in our lifetime.
I don't understand what you're talking about.
Which claim?
And Adam & Eve were created in the garden of Eden, why would they have to be planted there?
I don't understand what you're talking about.
DNA from whom?

No.
A formless void represents something that doesn't exist as something. Paleontology supports the notion that the Earth did indeed exist, as a planet.

Post #10There is no such thing as something that doesn't exist as something. If there is a thing it is some thing.
Void: A completely empty space.
Space has volume:
Space: a continuous area or expanse which is free, available, or unoccupied.
Therefore space exists as something.
So does the Bible.
The earth was completed as good in verse one of the Bible, and became without form, void, and dark as described in verse 2.
