Let's see if anyone can give a Biblical, wise, definitive answer.
Jesus made sure the Disciples had a weapon when they went to the place He would be arrested. But, the sword was missed by Peter, and Jesus easily let Himself be taken away.
The Martyrs of The Early Church did not resist slaughter or execution.
Jesus told His Disciples they would be killed for their Faith, but He ignored the issue of regular civil violence and warfare that would assumedly kill some of them.
Jesus never addressed the issue of using our efforts or means to physically protect our families from violence.
Godly American Founders specified the Second Amendment for insurrection and personal protection.
Killing a person in self defense is far different than murder.
Should we shoot to kill, or just to wound?
Nominal Christianswho are not engaged in Church work are often killed by thieves and violence oriented people, not receiving protection from the Lord.
Are average Believers less protected by God from assault because they do not work full time in a "ministry?"
Should we smile and witness to someone appearing ready to harm or kill us?
Should we sneak around in common sense avoidance of danger in order to be safer?
Should we speak the Name of Jesus to dispel evil and darkness we face?
What should we actually do when our neighbor's house is being broken into, or they are behind raped and screaming?

The Bible says: thy rod and thy staff they should comfort you. And in 2021 CE this means a revolver or pistol for family defence!
Should Real Christians Keep A Loaded Firearm For Family Defense? Yes! Maybe also a baseball bat or other.
So to say 2 items for self-defence in 2021. There is a lot of madness in the World, IMO. So one should be prepared and ready for those dangerous situations.
Good? (Though a loaded firearm should be kept by the adults in the family or in a locked weapon's cabinet.)

Post #3According to the unknown author of Luke 22:35, Yeshua said you should sell your cloak and buy a weapon.Benson wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 9:43 pm Let's see if anyone can give a Biblical, wise, definitive answer.

Luke 22:35Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you out without purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered. 36“Now, however,” He told them, “the one with a purse should take it, and likewise a bag; and the one without a sword should sell his cloak and buy one.…

Post #5Self defense is righteous. There is no sin there. Turn the other cheek is in reference to someone sinning against you like disrespecting you. Youre supposed to have a spirit of forgiveness in you To forgive them. However if someone is trying to end your life? Its common sense to defend yourself and a natural reaction.
Vengence is mine says the lord. That means you cant go hunt for the person in the wrong. Thou shall do no murder? Was referring to offensively. You have no right to take someones life offensively thar applies to vengence also. But in the momenr in the act? If some one is trying to kill you? You have to do what you have to do. Yes a firearm is neccesary because there are alot of crazy people in this world. Gird yourself not only with the word of God but also physical weapons too. Were christians not pansys and God wants soldiers. As moses said God is a man of War, The Lord is His Name.
Righteous war. In this case. Yes you are in your right to kill in a moment someone is trying to kill you. You would be a fool to let them kill you and not fight it. Christ only did that because he had to fulfill his role to usher in the New Covenant. It wasnt that he didnt believe in self defense and violence. For When he returns much blood will be shed. But it was becauss defending him there when they arrested him was a moot point and would interfere in Gods plans which was a huge no no. Even christ didnt want to drink of that cup but he said if it be the fathers will. It is what it is aka "amen" (which means "so be it") but he had to.
He said if this were my kingdom my servants would fight.
I say that to say that he never condemend violence. Its obviously neccesary for us to survive through certain moments.
I mentioned earlier about no murder? This is how you KNOW it wasnt referring to self defense. Because another law from God was ordering men to judge other men dor their sins before christ came. They would stone people to death commanded by God. God dont contradict. So clearly hes referring to offensive or vengeful which is offensive, murder.
But self defense? You are in your right. Do whats neccesary to survive.

Post #6I'm pretty sure that the statistics show that if there's a gun in a house, it's more likely to be used by a family member against another family member rather than being used in self defence.

"Did you know that roughly a third of U.S. homes with children have guns? In fact, nearly 2 million children live with unlocked, loaded guns. Parents may not realize what a serious injury risk a gun in the home is, especially for children.
Even young toddlers are capable of finding unlocked guns in the home, and they are strong enough to pull the trigger. Unintentional shootings happen to children of all ages.
There were at 241 unintended shootings by children in 2019, causing more than 100 deaths and nearly 150 injuries. Adolescents, in particular, are at a higher risk for suicide when there is a gun in the home. In fact, a gun in the home is 43 times more likely to be used to kill a friend or family member than a burglar or other criminal.'

Post #8All of those poorly managed guns and dead children were in families who rebel against the authority of God, and are not Real Christians. They had neither the Wisdom of God nor His protection. Thanks for the opportunity here to display the truth.Miles wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 10:08 pm .

100% of all criminal assaults can be prevented by the use of The Second Amendment. I hope you share how you feel about this fact.

Yes? No?
