Nah, leftism and liberalism is pretty much the same thing.

Then what would you call someone from the left wing that believes that race is unimportant. Believes that the world should have many free sovereign nations. And America and western civilization are basically good and have contributed many good things to the modern world. Liberals or leftist, I don't care which. As I told you, they are pretty much the same thing. The two person described here hold pretty much the same views: racism is wrong, worldwide cooperation is an important goal, freedom is good but has limitations. Indeed, you may even be describing just one person.

I asked a conservative to respond True or False to three statements.

1- Racism is wrong. True
2- Worldwide cooperation is an important goal. True
3- Freedom is good but has limitations. True

Sure, it would just be rather odd for such a conservative to not side with the left/liberalism. He must feel very strongly about some other issue to overrule these leftist/liberal ideals.

Since there's a long list of individual political goals that would each correspond to "left" or "right", you're bound to find people that don't fit cleanly into one set or the other. Someone with predominantly progressive views, but nonetheless politically opposes abortion would still be "left wing" if we are only allowed to pick one or the other.

That depends on what you mean. I think you mean that in a broad sense neither an individual nor government policies should be racist. If that's what you mean, then "left wing."

I don't recall the number of nations being a left/right thing. If someone thinks each of those sovereign nations should provide health care for its citizens, then he or she is probably left wing.

If the person thinks that the way America is doing thing now is good and shouldn't be changed, then they're probably conservative by definition. One can also recognize that the US has contributed many good things, but has done so by unfairly explotiing people.

Right wing. If that person is otherwise progressive, then "left wing, but racist."

If that person thinks that the sovereign world government should be the tool of a wealthy oligarchy, then right wing. If the government strives for a high quality of life for all of its citizens, then left wing.

I don't know why any of this pertains to religion since nothing in these posts address it, but allow me to interject:

Leftists would undoubtedly curb or eliminate religion's influence (making a martyr of itself). Communism in all worldly forms have done or tried to do this -- not a good idea!

Liberals would not emphasize religion, but adhere to the US Constitution's first Ten Amendments guaranteeing freedom of such (so that religion is free to embarrass itself).
