Why do you think the pollsters and the media were so wrong about this election?
Flaws in their polling samples?
Bias, trying to created self-fulfilling prophecy to favor Hillary Clinton?
Other?

Post #2[Replying to post 1 by Elijah John]
Lemmings following other lemmings, desiring a show instead of results.
If you drove around neighborhoods and counted signs, you would have seen a 7:1 ratio in Trump's favor.
If you went on face-book and counted supporters, you would have seen a 15:9 in Trumps favor, if you counted blog posts, 3:1, in Trumps favor.
Eight years ago, Hillary could not beat Chaney, so, that was a definitive precipitation for whoever the Republican candidate was.
The poles were for entertainment. To keep you guessing until the last minute.
Anyone who sticks there nose outside Fox and CNN knew the result years ago.

Independent reporters told a different story.
They were also wrong about wmd's in Iraq. If they were worth their salt they would have investigated it for fact or fiction.
They must enjoy printing those stories as in Russia to rig the elctions;
the stranger and more bizzare the more popular they seem.

Re: The Polls
Post #4Were they wrong? Hillary actually did win the popular vote. Maybe the polls weren't wrong after all.Elijah John wrote: Why do you think the pollsters and the media were so wrong about this election?
There are even moments being proposed as we speak to address this and to try to head this election off by December. Ironically in actual fact that "election" is not truly over yet. It's not over until December when the electoral representatives actually cast their votes. The idea is that since each state will be sending electoral representatives based on the electoral college to participate in this December voting the results will be precisely as predicted by the electoral college. However, should the states change their minds and instead send electoral representatives based on the popular vote then Hillary would win in December.
The chances of this dramatic change actually occurring are extremely slim. But there are movements actively pursuing this result. So Trump's victory still has a legal possibility of being overturned. Albeit a very unlikely event, but then again this entire political cycle has been out of the ordinary so we never know what might actually happen.
Trump's victory could be overthrown yet.

Post #5There's also a movement for California to suceed. Long shots at best, for both scenarios..Divine Insight wrote:Were they wrong? Hillary actually did win the popular vote. Your'e right...Hillary seems to be winning the popular vote, but the polls were way off on the state by state tallies, thus the electoral vote.
In a kind of Dewey vs Truman moment, one of the news weeklys had HRC's smiling face printed on their cover, with the caption "Madame President". Seems the print media was just as wrong as the polls.

Re: The Polls
Post #6The whole point of election polls is to predict the election, which means taking into account which state the respondents are in, so they were wrong.Divine Insight wrote:Were they wrong? There have been reports of the people being polled lying to the pollsters about who they would vote for(some possibly being to embarrassed.) this could have easily thrown off the polls. Also polls typically lag public trends the FBI stunt could have swayed the election and not shown up in the polling entirely.
