Wonder if they would make students do that to the names of Muhammed or Obama? Probably not, they seem to only like to push boundaries on things that don't push back.
Does anyone not find this objectionable?

Student Suspended for Refusing to Step on Jesus
Post #1"We are fooling ourselves if we imagine that we can ever make the authentic Gospel popular......it is too simple in an age of rationalism; too narrow in an age of pluralism; too humiliating in an age of self-confidence; too demanding in an age of permissiveness; and too unpatriotic in an age of blind nationalism." Post #2Considering the class involved is intercultural communications I think the prof got the reaction he was looking for. That being said I agree that it is ridiculous to suspend him from class and would say the prof needs to get a refresher on his own intercultural communication.East of Eden wrote: http://miami.cbslocal.com/2013/03/21/fa ... -on-jesus/

Has anyone actually CONFIRMED this persons's claim? I mean, lots of people make CLAIMS about the reasons why they got suspended, yet,.. well, there are other sides to the story.
What is the true story?
What is the true story?
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

Leave it to Goat to attack the source instead of the professor. If you'll read the link, the school admitted it had happened.Goat wrote: Has anyone actually CONFIRMED this persons's claim? The statement from the school was
FAU sent us a response by e-mail, saying, "Faculty and students at academic institutions pursue knowledge and engage in open discourse. While at times the topics discussed may be sensitive, a university environment is a venue for such dialogue and debate."
FAU says the instructor was doing a classroom exercise from a textbook entitled "Intercultural Communication: A Contextual Approach, 5th Edition."
That does not necessarily say 'he had to stomp on Jesus', nor does it say the whole story. You are only getting one small claim, and not looking at what actually happened. Sorry, but one person whining about something does not necessarily mean they are telling the correct story.

"The school has not commented whether the professor would face any disciplinary action."
If it never happened, why wouldn't the school say so? Why would there be any question of him facing disiplinary action?
I say fire him.
Neither does one person whining that a CBS news story isn't true. At least you're consistent in your repeated denial of stories embarassing to the secular left. Let's just say for a minute CBS didn't make up the story, is this objectionable to you? That does not necessarily say 'he had to stomp on Jesus', nor does it say the whole story. I assume CBS did before they ran the story. Do you have any contrary evidence?Goat wrote: Has anyone actually CONFIRMED this persons's claim?

If I was in charge, the teacher would be fired and facing legal consequences.
