Just becuase this little innocent girl was born on 9/11...

Read about this too. Truly sad that this group stoops to such lows.

I will say that the people of Tuscon seem to want to put a stop to this in their own peaceful way.

thats a great counter tactic! I really want to help out, I wonder if there is a way to donate money...I would donate time but I live way to far to do that...

That pretty much convinces me that the WBC is actually a joke in very poor taste. No one in their right mind would seriously picket a funeral of a 9-year-old victim of a shooting because she was born on 9/11.

I hope it is noting more than a poor taste joke. Although these lunatics are WBC...I wouldnt put it past them to be this insane...

Human ignorance and gullibility is one of the few safe things to bet on in this world. I have no doubt they believe in their cause. It is unfortunate that freedom of speech meant to promote ideas and intelligent debate also supports freedom for the spread of ignorance. There is really no way around it though so it is what it is...

Is the WBC growing or shrinking? Last I knew it was like that guys family and only a handful of others. I'm just surprised anyone still follows them....

What's really creepy was that I had that group in mind when I wrote this reply, using their mentality of course to illustrate the craziness of blaming Atheism for what happened that day.

But WBC is even worse than I thought, that they'd picket the funeral of the girl -- that they'd find fault with her of all people.

I honestly think it's because they believe that God wouldn't have let the girl die had she been innocent, but since she died so horribly -- it had to have been God's wrath against her iniquity, ergo she doesn't deserved to be honored at a funeral.

Those people possess a level of ignorance beyond description.

Yeah, it is only his family and I think it is still shrinking. The last count I saw was that they had 71 members while the Patriot Guard Riders had about 200,000.

Albert Einstein once said, "The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has limits." I don't think hatred or evil has limits either, and the Westboro Baptist Church is a prime example. You can be assured that their picketing of this innocent child's funeral is not a joke at all. To these despicable people, NOTHING and NO ONE is more important than putting out their "message." They have a counter of minutes of sleep lost worrying about people's "feeeeelings" -- that's a quote. It stands at zero.

Their website is apparently down, may it remain so forever; but if you doubt me, take a look when and if it comes back up. It's at godhatesfags.com.
