Religious Symbols and War

Post by DeBunkem »

The swastica is a form of the cross revered in the non-Xtian world for millenia. Even Native Americans used it in art. Then the genocidal Nazis claimed it for their own, and it came to represent evil incarnate and genocide. Wonder why some White Supremacists (many of whom are Islamocidal maniacs, too)and the BJP party in India, responsible for horrific massacres of Muslims in India, have also adopted it even today? Their official symbol is a lotus, but they revere the swastica. Yes, the slaughter is mutual, but in India, the Hindus have done most of the killing and immolating of Muslims.

Is there a question for debate?
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

Despite its historic origins, the swastica like any popular logo has assumed a life and a meaning all its own in the modern age. European literature and politics, for good or for evil, continue to influence behavior and belief.

What's in a name? In this case, nothing good.
