Just WHO is God?

Post by MadJW »

In world religion there all kinds of Gods.
I, personally, have examined most of them and found them lacking.
Then I come to 'Christian' religion, and find that the majority of them don't know God at ALL!
I think one can have a serious debate on THIS site!

The Bible= Jehovah (Name removed by most 'Christian' churches)
Churchianity= there's Three!

I just believe that the Father, Jesus and the HS are united in purpose.
Do you believe all three are individual persons with their own individual personalities and free will ?

Do you believe that all three are EQUAL in power , rank and authority.

Do you believe all three persons have been alive the same length of time?

Majority of Christians worship Christ..
What Did Jesus say about the broad and spacious road with MANY on it?
Christianity is defined as followers of Christ.
Followers of Christ, yes. Worshipers of Christ, no. Follow isn't interchangeable with worship. Jesus worshiped his Father. Jehovah's Witnesses FOLLOW Christ in that respect.

"Then Jesus said to him “Go, Satan: for it is written ‘You shall do reverence to the Lord your God, and worship him alone.’” - Matt 4:10

Note Jesus said 'it is written' where is it written?
Deuteronomy 6:13, "Jehovah your God you should fear, and him you should serve, and by his name you should swear."

Jesus never said 'I am the one you must worship'.
Do you believe worshiping a non god a sin?
I'm not sure you and I share the same meaning for the word worship. If my mate tells me to go take the trash to the curb, because I listened to them, I fear you'd call that worship, but I'm not sure.
I mean this text that the disciples worshipped Jesus, do they commit sin?
Matt 28:17-18
17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
KJV
Did you know that the KJV isn't the most accurate Bible when it comes to translation?

Douay-Rheims Bible
And seeing them they adored: but some doubted.

Darby Bible Translation
And when they saw him, they did homage to him: but some doubted.

Weymouth New Testament
There they saw Him and prostrated themselves before Him. Yet some doubted.

World English Bible
When they saw him, they bowed down to him, but some doubted.

Young's Literal Translation
and having seen him, they bowed to him, but some did waver.

There is no sin in, bowing, prostrating, or paying homage to Jesus. Thus the disciples didn't sin as they were not worshiping Jesus.

We have gone over this. "Worship" can be used to mean a showing of honor and respect to an individual, such as "worshipping" kings and other humans or idols. Worship as to God or the Most High is reserved for the Father of Jesus, known from the Scriptures as "YHWH" or "Jehovah." (Psalm 83:18, KJV) It's all in a person's attitude or intentions.

Yes, the same Greek word of worship that the Father seeks to worship Him in John 4:23
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.(NKJV)

Yes, it is used to refer to many. But Christians as true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. And a believer who worship others commits sin.

Agreed. But a Christian can pay "hommage" to another human without it being a sin.

It could, but I mean the kind worship that the Father is seeking.

So the same Greek word can be rendered "hommage" that can be rendered to someone other than YHWH the Father or worship that is exclusively to Almight God. Is that correct?

Correct, that is "proskuneo" used to worship the Father and Jesus.
