Satan, the devil, and lucifer

MrMalone wrote the following here.
Christian Theology on Satan is misunderstood. Satan, Lucifer and the Devil are not the same things; yes even according to the Bible.
I'm creating this thread to investigate this claim. Are these three creatures one in the same or different according to scripture?
It is a first class human tragedy that people of the earth who claim to believe in the message of Jesus, whom they describe as the Prince of Peace, show little of that belief in actual practice.

Mumbo-Jumbo, pointless, gibberish, endless discussion of silliness, lacking substance.
The Bible uses names like demons ,Satan, angels etc to encapsulate ideas.
Satan represents evil ideas and notions, while Angels represent good ideas and notions. It uses talking snakes and fish that spit out men after three days as well as other colorful entities. All non existing of course.

There are too many errors or paradoxes in the Bible to allow life to be given to these characters.

GIA,

As always, you present reasonable positions and thought-provoking ideas. I agree with much or most of what you say (but probably for different reasons).

Is the credibility of the bible adversely affected by presenting non-existing characters and events as though they were true?

If one eliminates the errors, paradoxes, non-existing characters and non-existing events from the bible, what is left?

Would it resemble the "Jefferson Bible"?
.
Non-Theist

ANY of the thousands of "gods" proposed, imagined, worshiped, loved, feared, and/or fought over by humans MAY exist -- awaiting verifiable evidence

Thanks for the first.
For the second, I don't know. My initial reaction is yes but if the symbology was taken out, then it may never have been writen. Remember the day and the sophistication of the masses.

I believe that even with all the garble that you see in the Bible that it is still the best road map to God. Jesus is the last and best prophet whose philosophy should be followed.

Nice name, Usually schools did things by “Line up alphabetically.” I assume you like the end of the line.

God teaches mankind a lot of lessons, Even to those who do not believe in Him. One of them is taught in Christianity, It is in not taking thought for how things, or ourselves, or our believes APPEAR to other.

Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Just because all mankind is in God’s House, Does not mean that all in the House see, Just that it shines to all. It has shined, Now the eyes need to be able to see the love of God, to see the love done in Christ.

Lacking substance? How many have starved to death by a full garbage can? Garbage is the main source of food for millions of poor people. How many died by plants that had edible roots, etc, Not knowing what was substance and what was not.

Many see Jesus as lacking substance, Many see Jesus as the lacking substance most of mankind needs. So when you find out what substance is of value, and what is not, Then remember how many see Jesus as Garbage, and go get a Spoon.

You must have heard of how Jesus multiplied the Loaves and the Fishes, He also multiplies what drops off the talbe.

Mark 7:28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.
