What did Jesus ever do, that we can see, to improve the lives of mankind?
As a Prophet, what prophecies did Jesus ever make that have been fulfilled?
Jesus was a charismatic orator....he said some great sayings.....but what did he ever do?
IMO, all we have from Jesus are unfulfilled promises. We have nothing concrete that we can see. Did Jesus die for your sins? How can you tell if he did or not? How can you tell if you still have sins or not?

Post #31Folklore, faith, feasibility, fantasy, and/or facts, can become a strange mixture and quite a challenge.marco wrote:It is rather sad that despite modernity hitting us like a blast of cold air, we bury ourselves in folk-lore. There was panic when the millennium came round since many thought this date would herald something biblically dramatic. The Mayans created an astonishing calendar with key events marked out for future emphasis. And of course we have horoscopes; people who are Pisces pick out some happy event for their daily fortune. For many years people paraded in cities with placards reading "The end of the world is nigh."onewithhim wrote:
No these things haven't happened YET but they sure as heck will happen in the not too distant future! Every thing you mentioned will be accomplished when Christ comes back at Armageddon to finally obliterate all of the evil in the world. Just because you think that he is being too SLOW doesn't mean that those things will not be accomplished at all!
I would like to see the mathematical ingenuity that has told some of us that apocalyptic events will happen "in the not too distant future."
Cold air could just be better than hot air.
Here is an example of each:

Acts 1:7
He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know.

Re: Jesus' Resume...WHAT DID HE DO?
No.Red Wolf wrote:Did Jesus die for your sins?
One would find that information in the Holy Scriptures.Red Wolf wrote:How can you tell if he did or not?
Here's a summary of how humans can gain everlasting life as detailed in the scriptures:
Those whose names are written in the Book of Life will inherit everlasting life when the Covenant between God and man is probated.
Under the original Testament, the wages of sin was death -- and all mankind ever born had sinned.
Then Jesus was born and lived a sinless human life.
Consequently, He became the only human to have His name written in the Book of Life.
But Jesus freely offers His inheritance rightfully earned under the Old Testament covenant to other sinful humans who are willing to accept Him as their Savior under the New Testament covenant.
That is, under the New Testament, if one accepts Jesus as their Savior, Jesus gives His inheritance which He earned under the Old Testament covenant to them.
The rational is that if by the one man, Adam, sin and death passed to all mankind; then conversely by the inheritance of everlasting life through the efforts of the one man Jesus, salvation can also be offered to all mankind.
Thus, salvation becomes the gift of God through the man Jesus Christ.
Salvation is no longer based on our works to remain sinless.
Guilt, shame, et cetera, are symptoms.Red Wolf wrote:How can you tell if you still have sins or not?
Jesus lived a sinless human life, and offers His reward for doing so to those who believe in Him.Red Wolf wrote:WHAT DID JESUS DO?
All we have to do is choose everlasting life or everlasting death.
Sin, or the absence of sin, is no longer in the equation.

WHAT DID JESUS DO?
My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

Re: Jesus' Resume...WHAT DID HE DO?
Post #34For sure. And if anyone believes the Bible, Jesus did the most for mankind of any other person that ever lived. He provided the means for our ransom from sin and death. He demonstrated what would happen in the coming paradise on Earth---the dead will come back to life; there will be no more starvation; the elements of nature will be controlled so that no one will die by earthquakes, tidal waves, hurricanes, fires, etc. He gave us all hope, to get through these difficult days and finally see the earth as the home that God wanted for us in the beginning.Elijah John wrote:What did Socrates ever do? That's because the old order will then have passed away, to reveal the new order, a new heaven and a new earth together, where righteousness dwells, with God and man in perfect harmony.
That is the Paradise Jesus promised the thief on the cross, and all overcomers, best described in Revelation 21 and 22.
That's what we are looking forward to.
2 Peter 3:
13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.
15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation,

Post #38Jesus came for men and women of faith and only they will see his life as being significant. For the world Jesus did nothing of real value, this should be of no surprise since people of faith have historically been deemed as nothing by the world. Paul wrote of those ones...
