The Hell Question

Post by bryan12 »

The topic for discussion is:
What exactly are the "qualifications" for hell?

How bad do you have to be during your lifetime?

There seem to be many interpretations of the word "hell", and though there's usually a common viewpoint of the place being "evil", or "bad", how bad do you necessarily have to be?

Do you have to be a believer? Must you have faith and repent your sins?

And what exactly happens in hell anyway? Apparently, you're to be tortured, but how so? How does it work?

edit: I just realized that this topic should be in Theory, Doctrine, and Dogma

If not..........."Follow your heart, for it is through the heart that God speaks to man."
"For out of the heart comes evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, alanders..these are the things which defile a man.." (Matt 15:19-20)
Jesus spoke this to the pharisees, who were clearly NOT following the will of God in their lives and were prohibiting others from doing so by 'teaching as doctrine the commandments of men.'
So evil only comes out of "pharisees" hearts? Or of those not following the will of God? Where does evil come from in everyone else then? Or does it at all?
Well, don't you think evil & good come from the heart.......but if we follow Gods' will - we should be able to tell the difference and follow that. I'm pretty sure we have an sense of right & wrong within us - excluding psycopaths, etc.

It would seem if we all had some kind of innerant sense of right and wrong than there would be less wrong or maybe no wrong. I guess my point was that it would be illogical to tell someone to listen to their heart for the voice of God, if evil speaks through there also.

Contrary to popular belief there really is no immortallity of the soul(body).God only has immortallity and of course the son for now. When we die through out the scriptures it is described as falling asleep.Normmally we are buried in hell/grave and our souls decay and our spirits sleep as if in a deep coma with no knowledge of the passing of time.Next when we are ressurected from our hells/graves all we'll
remember is what happened before we woke up as spirit beings and we'll know what that is when we see our brother. Its given to mostly all men to die/sleep once then after that there is the final or second death where it is then cease to exist time along with satan, his minions, hell and those who blaspheme the Father's spirit.
This other stuff about hell flies in the face of logical sense and that of biblical doctrine. But then what ever the majority believes ussually does.Pray for the truth and not that of philosophical, religio man made thought.Hold fast to your crown, let no man take it.God bless you.So be it.

What if you're a sincere individual who "accepts" a different God?
I'm not sure I know, but what god do you accept? I think God is God, and any picture we have of Him, may be our own, but there is only one God. Maybe He just looks different to some of us.........??

That might be. However, some people get aweful upset of you don't have their picture of God.

Even if you do not do bad things to your fellow but you do have a simple disbelief in the reality of the existence of the Almighty Lord God or suffice to say like an Atheist, that will qualify you in hell?
bryan12 wrote:Do you have to be a believer? Must you have faith and repent your sins??.
Should you do these things to God, you are then qualified in paradise with the Lord.

Torment is much applicable but as to how or how does it work, it is yet to come and let us just wait and see.
