Muslims Threaten Free Speech in New Mexico

Post by East of Eden »

From this morning's local paper:

"A lecture by an author known for her critical views of Islam resulted in a melee Thursday at the University of New Mexico as protesters interrupted her speech and were shoved by others in the audience.

Nonie Darwish was halfway through her speech, "Why the Arab Spring is Failing," at the university's Anthropology Lecture Hall when a group of about 10 protesters interrupted with loud chants. When a few audience members turned around to try to silence the protesters, a physical confrontation followed."

Here is an attempt to stifle freedom of speech in the US. No doubt due to political correctness these thugs won't be prosecuted as they should be. This is radical Islam trying to send a message to UNM not to have such speakers on campus. It is like organized crime when it tried to intimidate and make an example of someone.

Does this bother anyone here?

But even if true, is this supposed to suggest that muslims and students are here to take away our freedoms, and that christianists have never done the same? what's your point? more fodder for paranoia and xenophobia, or have you moved on?
Wow, that didn't take long to change the subject to Christians. #-o

Get back to us when the Methodists shout down a Muslim meeting.
Alinskyites.

They know their playbook so well.

What makes you think that Muslim agitators were responsible?

Arab Spring was created by, and for the benefit of, European and American financial interests. Specifically the US, UK & France. The big lie is that the whole thing was a spontaneous uprising of Muslim nationals who love freedom. A bigger lie is that the folk who live in those affected areas believe it - if they ever did. The truth is that gullible Americans will buy anything as long as its wrapped in a heavy layer of patriotic rhetoric and stars and stripes tripe.

Any suggestion that this was otherwise or that Arab Spring was anything other than a democratic process is not exactly something that any thinking Muslim would be opposed to. In fact, none that live there are encountering anything like political liberty - or economic relief either for that matter. Read all about it, don't simply justify an American nationalist attitude by figuring its always the Muslims fault.

Arab Spring isn't failing simply because it never existed in the first place. It was first last and always an op-ed propaganda piece in the government regulated media. Our government media.

Want proof? Americans generally have no idea who the players were in "Arab Spring" or what set it off in the first place. Most of us don't know who is involved in the current Syrian debacle or Iran for that matter (even though the info is plainly obvious if you read a little). You can't know the game if you don't know the players and you can't guess at the goal if you know neither.

Its more than America against Islam and it certainly isn't about democracy for anybody US or THEM. America ALWAYS puts dictators in power, never a democracy. It's way easier to manipulate a dictator than a parliament.

Read. Think.
R.I.P. AMERICAN REPUBLIC

- Here lies Liberty -
Born in the spring,
died in the fall.
Stabbed in the back,
forsaken by all.

A small group of hateful people violating the rights of the speaker. Let them book a date to speak at the campus.
But even if true, is this supposed to suggest that muslims and students are here to take away our freedoms, and that christianists have never done the same?
Please reference the century please? Muslims are still doing what Mohammad did in the 6th century. Christians? well today the ring bells outside of Target Stores to ask for money to feed the poor and homeless.
what's your point? more fodder for paranoia and xenophobia, or have you moved on?
How about reality?
