Christian voting...

Post by Corvus »

Why is it that so many Christian Americans vote Republican? Is it because liberal Christianity doesn't really have a hold in America?

Wouldn't more liberal policies, like charity and equitable division of wealth, be more suited to Christian principles? Or is Republican party traditionalism seen as more important than sacrificing income?

Lotan:

Please respond to the question up for debate in your own words and, if appropriate, with quotes or links that back up your statements. Simply linking to an outside site is not useful for debate. Place it in context with the question in your own words in order to make it relevant.

The question in this thread is:
Why is it that so many Christian Americans vote Republican?

This is not a formal warning, just a reminder that all posts should be made relevant to the topic

Hi ST88

My apologies. The subject matter seemed relevant to the topic. Is there a forum for posting current news articles?

I agree that parts of the subject matter are relevant to the topic. But we should be able to hear from you how they are relevant. Don't depend on what the creators of the website say in order to make your point for you. Use their points to help you make your own. My concern was that you were effectively quoting an entire source without pointing out the relevance.

Please PM me if you would like to discuss this further, so that we can keep this thread on topic.

Because the Republican Party best represents Christian principles and values. The only thing liberals seem to have on conservatives is there stance on immigration, they seem to forget that their view of life is drastically different from what Christianity teaches.

Yes, Political Liberals use Christianity to advance their agenda and then cry foul when Conservatives dare bring up anything about Christianity when it comes to life.

Liberal policies are not "charity." Liberal policies are mandated charity by means of the government intervention, there is a big difference. A unique characteristic I see amoung liberals is that they want to tell otehr people what to do, but they don't themselves do what they're preaching. Such as Al Gore, who campaigns for Americans to use less energy but imself lvies in a large, luxurious home.

Marke: I vote republican because I oppose abortion, sexual perversions, big government Marxism, and government oppression.
