70 Non Trinitarian translations of John 1:1
Post #1An excellent collection though a few show a few signs of liberties. There's a lot more "A god" translations than I realized.
Is it logical to conclude that there is much more than the JWs as an authority that this reading of John 1:1 can be legitimately read as "a god"?
Are there enough translations that present the case of "a god" or "Divine" as the translation of an article-less "Theos" to conclude that it's not just some fringe baseless position? Is it more of a Theological issue why the "A god" translation is so unappreciated by the "Conservative scholars"?

Post #101In the Greek lexicons at John 1:1= The true God called Ton Theon=God, the word called Theon= god when in the same paragraph with Ton Theon. It occurs at 2 Cor 4:4 as well, which they translated correctly-Ton Theon to the true God=God, and Theon to the god of this system of things( satan)--Shermana wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2011 3:38 am

Theon-god means-has godlike qualities it is not calling that one God.
The true God is called Theon in many passages of NT when he is spoken of alone in a paragraph.
The only word in Greek for either God or god = Theon, thus Ton was put in front for the true God if another was called Theon in the same paragraph.
The trinity scholars know its 100% fact yet say nothing. Why? Because all those religions would be exposed as false religions, billions of dollars lost every year and 2 billion humans suing them for taking their money because they do know and say nothing.

Post #102Yes, exactly. Isn't it too bad that billions of people are duped by the way things are, as you described?kjw47 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:36 pmIn the Greek lexicons at John 1:1= The true God called Ton Theon=God, the word called Theon= god when in the same paragraph with Ton Theon. Post #103That is true. I believe that religions' pastors know the truth about God and that He is not Jesus Christ, yet they teach what the congregations want to hear. If they taught the truth they wouldn't have a job.kjw47 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:36 pmIn the Greek lexicons at John 1:1= The true God called Ton Theon=God, the word called Theon= god when in the same paragraph with Ton Theon. "For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories." I heard of a clergyman who tried to tell his congregation about the pagan additives in Christmas and that it would be unacceptable to Jesus. They escorted him to the door and told him not to come back. Yes they want their ears tickled, especially with the words-you are saved--that man who told them that does not know. 1) he cannot read the true heart of another,2) he has never seen a single name written in Gods book of life,3) he has no clue who will endure until their end( Matt 10:22)--RUN from those false teachers. They are tithe seekers.

Yes, any church that seeks a tithe is not a church of God. That went out with the Mosaic Law and the end of the priesthood recognized by Jehovah.

Post #106Those that can't be bothered listening to Jesus, don't know that fact. Once they are told-you are saved-do little to listen to Jesus.onewithhim wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 1:59 pm [Replying to kjw47 in post #104]

Post #107Yes, that is the sad fact. "Once saved always saved" believers can figure they have made it so they can do whatever they want.kjw47 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 9:39 pmThose that can't be bothered listening to Jesus, don't know that fact. Once any are told-you are saved, they believe it in any of those religions. Joel Osteen stands on tv and says--say 3 lines of prayer with me and you are saved--He doesn't even know 1, 1 hundreth of the people he is telling are saved. He is an ear tickler like all those who tell others-you are saved--They do not know. Run from those teachers. Jesus is not with them.

Post #109That's right. Jesus said "The one that endures to the end is the one that will be saved." It proves trinity religions are not Jesus', thus they reject all translations showing the truth at John 1:1.
I say trinity scholars know 100% that in the Greek lexicons the word is not called capitol G God but a god is 100% correct.
