End times

Discussing the topic 'stupid doors' made me realize I'm always thinking I should be well prepared, because I feel like no one really taught me anything important.

It makes me feel if we are submissive of important things to know or learn, it puts us in the near usless catagory if something bad were to happen.

So in light of this, I want to know a couple of things:

Feel free to be broad. We don't nec. have to talk about natural causes or nuclear disasters.

1.) Without any idea of where, when or how; why might society fall apart at a catastrophic event. (feel free to use current events)

2.) What we could be doing, or are not doing now to handle a catastrophy.

3.) Are we to assume the common idea as proposed in 'children of men', that if society is sanctioned by borders, and that people are held collective, that independant nations, factions, or religions might be created?

4.) At this point, would your survival surpass your morals? And to what degree?

I am sure it will be an accident and no one's fault.
Oh no, the homosexuals are most certainly rampant, and have been plotting the Earth's downfall for eons.

Or at least since Jerry Falwell came into prominence.

By 2012 the Saudis will have reached maximum oil production. From there on out it is downhill. Without drastic changes in energy policy (immediately not then) we will be facing incredible oil/gas prices following this event. And it will continue to only get worse.

If an interruption in production were to occur we could easily see $20+ USD spikes in the price of a gallon of gas. If that were to happen world inflation would be over 100%. At this point I expect the cracks already in the system to start showing through the thin layer of paint our governments keep slapping over the cracks, which in my opinion will lead to the collapse of most governmental structure.

Every model I have seen imply at least an 85% die-off in major urban areas within the first 60 days of such an event. Cannibalism will be a reality to survive unless you are isolated and well prepared.

Quit pursuing corn ethanol and start going after sugar cane alcohol with a vengeance. It is a far more efficient.

Start seriously exploring other renewable energy options, the answer will not one solution, but many.

Sure. The degree will depend on the desperation. I have every intention of being in my fallback position by 2012, but if for some reason I am not, I will be looking for the book To Serve Man
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.[GOD] ‑ 1 Cor 13:11
