Some interesting stats from a Pew Research Center Publication, 2014

AND

"Jehovah’s Witnesses . . . make up just less than 1% of U.S. adults." That much huh. Hmmm. Who would have thought.

"Most Jehovah’s Witnesses – roughly two-thirds (65%) – are women, while only 35% are men." Ah, just as I thought, one of those female religions.

"Compared with other U.S. religious groups, Jehovah’s Witnesses tend to be less educated. A solid majority of adult Jehovah’s Witnesses (63%) have no more than a high school diploma, compared with, for example, 43% of evangelical Protestants and 37% of mainline Protestants." Make sense to you as well?

"Jehovah’s Witnesses have a low retention rate relative to other U.S. religious groups. Among all U.S. adults who were raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses, two-thirds (66%) no longer identify with the group." Ouch!

"while half of Jehovah’s Witnesses say they believe in heaven, very few (7%) say they believe in hell." Only half believe in Heaven??? Good grief, what does the other half think happens to them when they die?

"three-quarters (75%) say abortion should be illegal in all or most cases," Gotta wonder about the apostate 25%. Didn't they get the letter?

"similar shares oppose same-sex marriage and say homosexuality should be discouraged by society (76% each)." Of course, because. . . because. . . well just because.

"Roughly three-quarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses (74%) also reject evolution, saying humans have always existed in their present form since the beginning of time." The other 26% being those who went to college and became educated.

These statistics are false--Every real JW believe the exact same thing on matters.
Sorry, but in my estimation the findings and methods of the Pew Research Center are more credible than your personal opinion.

.
99% on earth believe error over truth.
.......................................99% you say Image

Every JW on earth knows 100% there is a heaven-3 of them. Our atmosphere is called heaven, outer space is called heaven, Gods dwelling place is called heaven in the bible. See Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Sheol( grave) = Hades( grave) = hell.
Whoever did that survey is full of it up to their eye brows.
Sorry, but in my estimation the findings and methods of science will always be more credible than your opinion.

.

And unfortunately those believing false crap will lose.
Ah, an opinion.

Many scientists call God a liar-Gen 1:1--thats who you believe.
And another!

The science of men is flawed to the core, thus its destroying Gods earth for mortals.
And so on.

Everything is polluted, a huge hole in ozone, etc,
And . . . . . . *sigh* . . . . more.

They are selling us cancer, etc.
Ah ha, the ubiquitous "they" raises its head.

Most of the drugs they create they are being sued for. $$$ is what they seek over mortal life.
And a trio no less. :approve:

No matter what you believe, i know exactly what JW,s teach and believe.
"Exactly" you say. Well good for you, I guess.

Your first post is untruth.
Without evidence, and I assume you have none or else you would have provided it, all we have here is just one more opinion.

I would have thought the days of misogyny and the toxic ideology that anything associated with women must lack intellgent anaysis and good sense were over! I feel confident you are NOT suggesting that an organisation that is predominently female must be one that has negative features because of having too many women ... so what pray tell is "one of those female religions"?!

I have seen this pole before and there are few parts that are over the place. This could be for a couple of reasons.

1. It could be that the question asked of the JWs is too open ended. If you ask me, 'do you believe in Heaven', I'd answer yes of course. But if I think you mean am I going to Heaven then I'd answer no. As kjw47 points out in post 5, JWs understand that Heaven could mean different things. So just asking 'do you believe in Heaven' for us we need to know what do they mean by 'heaven'.

Couldnt agree more.

The question about ABORTION for example... since we are politjcally neutral, a question like "Do you think abortion should be ILLEGAL?" is problematic. It could be interpreted to be a request to voice a political opinion which might evoke a "No" because we believe people should be free to make their own moral decisions free of'government intervention . On the other hand : "Do you believe God approves of abortions?" might get an entirely different response.

Indeed the decidedly political slant given to the wording is problematic for us. Instead of asking Do you believe God approves of homosexual acts? Or do you believe a religion that God approves of should tolerate its members engagjng in same sex sexual activity? The wording is "homosexuality should be discouraged by society"? Since this might be perceived as a political position, this might evoke a No rather than a yes (as in I believe "society" should do whatever God allows as long as I can respect Gods laws as I please)

Other examples the questions giving bizzare results .... EVOLUTION "[Do you believe ] humans have always existed in their present form since the beginning of time? If this decidedly sloppy wording was presented to me I would have to say "No" because humans have not existed since {quote} the beginning to time"

Jehovahs Witnesses have a keen eye for wording when it comes to their faith; if asked Do you believe your religion is the one true faith leading to eternal life,? this might be objectionable since it is bible TRUTHS that lead to eternal life not the religion itself.

In short, one would need to be very atuned to the Jehovahs Witness theology to strip a question down enough to get an unequivocable Yes or No from us ... in a poll or anywhere else.

Its hard truth to face as a man, but the majority of my sex are stubborn and self-righteous. The numbers appear to support that. However, I have been told all my life by the world, 'be your own man!'. Whatever that means. Humility isn't viewed as a sign of strength and takes humility to respect Jehovah God and in turn gain His wisdom. (Proverbs 2:1-5) The very thought for many men to turn over their life in service to another makes their stomach turn. Thus sadly, they are a minority in Jehovah's organization.

That's not a "sex" thing that's a human thing... as for why religion appeals more to women than to men, it might be that that women are generally more people orientated than men. They traditionally had more time to interact since in the past (less so now but still are predominently) , women are the home makers. And not to be overlooked, women have been historically oppressed and disadvantaged which makes them perhaps more open to looking for solutions from a higher source.

I think the reasons are numerous and complex but none of them include the OPs clumbsy and offensive implication its because they have smaller brains or whatever other ad hominem was being insinuated by refering to "one of those female religions"

Should a predominently female membership be considered a negative feature ?

Agreed, that both are told to do their own thing, and a person must let that go regardless of their sex to follow God. It isn't in the nature of a male to do their own thing more than a female, its how males are nurtured in our society. In my experience, male are shamed for being humble. Like many others, I was told being humble and forgiving isn't 'manly'.

It seems both are sexes are people orientated, its just while women join religions, men join political parties and run for office to rule over those people. lol

It's not "personal opinion" that JWs believe a certain way, and are unanimous in what they believe. We are "the horse's mouth," so to speak. We are there in the ranks and know what we all believe. No JW would say they believe in a fiery hell or that they doubt heaven exists for certain people. All JWs eschew abortion and homosexuality and other things that you mentioned that JWs supposedly believe. We know what we believe, and the Pew Research is skewed big-time.

Then what is it? It certainly can't be factual evidence because you've never presented any. Or have you? If so, please show us the evidence supporting the "fact" that JWs "are unanimous in what they believe." I ask because the Pew findings I presented (below) say very differently, particularly JW beliefs about heaven and hell.

...... Image

We are "the horse's mouth," so to speak.
Actually, it appears you have the horse turned around.

We are there in the ranks and know what we all believe.
Boy, from the Pew findings and your remarks about it, it's quite difficult to believe you or anyone else in the ranks knows anything about what any of you believe.

No JW would say they believe in a fiery hell or that they doubt heaven exists for certain people.
But according to your statement above that "JWs. . . . are unanimous in what they believe," all JWs believe in a hell of some sort, and no paltry 7%.

All JWs eschew abortion and homosexuality and other things that you mentioned that JWs supposedly believe.
Boy even god doesn't eschew homosexuality. He may dislike male homosexuals who have sex with each other, even calling for their death, while letting practicing female homosexuals off with a mere scolding, but eschewing homosexuality itself, "the quality or characteristic of being sexually or romantically attracted to people of one's own sex," god has said nothing.

We know what we believe.
And other people don't know what they believe? Is that the profundity you're trying to lay on us?
