Even former President Obama and Bill Clinton campaign advisor James Carville are critical of today's Democrat party. Obama warning against the "cancel culture" of the Left, and Carville expressing dismay at such notions as Democrat advocacy for voting rights for felons still in prison, (or is that just Bernie who wants that?) and Dems "no borders" policies.
For debate, are Carville and Obama "out of touch" and on the wrong side of history? Or do they represent a vestigial voice of sanity that survives among some Democrats.
Have the Democrats gone way too far Left?
Today's Left wing Democrat party.

Today's Left wing Democrat party.
Post #1 My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

We need a party of globalization and ecology.Donray wrote: We have the socialist party and the Christin party. We need a financial conservative party.
Anyone who thinks we can avoid globalization or thinks that globalization is a bad thing isn't paying attention to how life is evoking on earth.
And socialism will eventually force itself on us one way or the other. Capitalism that is based on growth to make a profit cannot continue forever. It was doomed from the onset. It was just a matter of time until the population caught up with it. And now that's where we are at.
Financial systems that require growth to make a buck are no longer sustainable. Yet, that kind of competition is the heart of capitalism.
Socialism will be our fate.
We can either have it willingly via a well-orchestrated plan.
Or it will be forced upon us in the form of soup kitchens in a new "Great Depression".
It currently looks like we're headed for the latter.

So, what will replace capitalism?
Socialism does not work. Look at Venezuela. What about all the social programs in Europe that don't seem to be supportable.
Communism is a form of Socialism and how did that work out. I think China and Vietnam show that they are capitalistic now. These are two countries I have been and know first hand that they are very capitalistic. China most people pay for health insurance since they have a many tired system of health care. The only country that I have been too that still has a lot of Socialism is Cuba and even they are going with more capitalism.

Socialism doesn't work?
Then why did our Founding Fathers demand it?
Quoting myself from my earlier post:
Then there is the question of socialism. Some on the right believe that the Dems practice or advocate this ideology. But do they? A fair reading of history will show that our Founding Fathers advocated "socialist" reforms such as Social Security (Thomas Paine), free college (Jefferson), universal health care (Jefferson), and the building of infrastructure (Washington & Hamilton) long before anyone ever heard of the word "socialism". While these Founders put much of these policies into practice such as Governor DeWitt Clinton in New York who built up the water ways which ultimately made the Great Lakes as "great" as they became, all this was done before Karl
Marx was born. How then can anyone be called "Marxist" for advocating reforms that came into existence before the founder of this ideology even walked the earth?
Did the Founder's ideas work? They are what made America great.

Re: Today's Left wing Democrat party.
Post #15I have always felt (from my safe perch in the UK) that USA politics doesn't actually have a left wing. Just a right wing (Democrats) and an extreme right wing (Republicans). Certainly, I see no American candidate for the presidency advocating the nationalisation of the means of production, or the abandonment of the concept of private wealth, which would be truly left-wing.

Post #16And in what way, precisely, do they differ in that from Republicans?

Post #17What made America great was a large land area, considerable sources of raw materials, and a big population. Oh yes, and there are the small matters of genocide amongst the native American peoples, and the slavery of black Africans.koko wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 4:33 pmDonray wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 11:57 am [Replying to post 11 by Divine Insight]

Re:
Post #18Socialism would work just fine if only people were morally better developed. That may be expecting too much, but the Marxist idea of 'From each according to his ability, to each, according to his need' is a recipe for paradise, as was Jesus' 'Love God, and love each other.' We have the ideas, we just lack the political will, to build God's Kingdom on Earth.Donray wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 11:57 am [Replying to post 11 by Divine Insight]
